Great point about expensive records. Excellent video given the cost of vinyl these days and rare pressings! Why am I the first to comment? Would have thought there would be a lot of comments already on this video!

i found 'happenings' by Bobby Hutcherson (amazing blue note classic) very bad quality in this same basic blue note reissue series. It was both very average sound (not better than the cd), plus it was full printing problems, such that there was A LOT of noise despite being bought sealed. I found out the discogs that many people had the same problem (very bad quality copy). So, in this case the cd was better. For Andrew Hill's "black fire', i listened to the tone poet version and it was really great. I also compared it with the original. Great. Did u check the mono version of out to lunch?
Is your Happenings the 75th Anniversary pressing? Mine was equally terrible. Just plagued with surface noise. I have not heard a mono Out To Lunch. I sort of wish I had one now though, haha. Most Tone Poets I’ve heard sound great. Same goes for the Classic series. But the 75th Anniversary is well known for its digital sourcing (which doesn’t bother me all that much) and quality control issues. I have 3 that sound great, Happenings was a bust though.
