Eric Effiong (played by Ncuti Gatwa) is the boyfriend I never had, the brother that everyone would want, the best friend that everyone deserves. I don’t know a better person, I don’t! Sex Education season 1 and 2 are now streaming.
@@arandomgurl1510 but rahim was quite offensive againist eric, he made fun of eric's religion and it was quite obvious that eric wasn't even in love with him in the first place, he just tried his best not to hurt him but he can't date someone forever just for them to not get hurt
@@arandomgurl1510 I think Eric was still trying to figure out if he really did like Rahim and Rahim is already experienced and was moving to fast for him. Could also explain one of the reasons he chose Adam who is inexperienced and doesn't intimidate him with all his knowledge (Like the douche Scene) Rahim was also pretty disrespectful at the church. Eric didn't mean to hurt Rahim it just happened fast and Adam wasn't an option then, He probably saw something in Adam that he liked and hadn't seen with Rahim (I'm just saying possibilities don't go off on me)
Rahim has such a weird energy and it makes Eric low-key uncomfortable, because he couldn't be fully himself. Even his mom said he changes around him and doesn't sparkle. They're attracted to each other physically, but I don't think their personality matches. Eric is very bubbly and Rahim takes everything seriously.
@@mariapires7135 Rahim was sweet in some ways, but he was very rude towards Eric's religion and in church. If he doesn't believe in God, that's fine, but he was very rude towards the pastor. (Is that the term?) You don't walk into someone's religious safe space and tell them you don't believe in their God when they tell you he loves you or God bless you, etc. You wish them well back, tell them God loves them. He was there for Eric and he seemed very disrespectful. Rahim and Eric were opposites, which usually attract, but in this case, it didn't work. They didn't share similar interests, so there was nothing there.
@@Darkangel22378 I completely disagree. If the shoe was on the other foot you wouldn't expect a Christian to denounce their faith to appease athiests. Rahim shouldn't have to pretend he believes in something he doesn't. That Rahim came along already showed respect towards Eric's faith. If I were in Rahim's situation I might have just nodded and said thanks, to avoid conflict. But that's more understandable when Rahim later explains he was literally driven out of his country becuase of religion so it's understanable that he'd feel strongly as not being mistaken for another religion. It's not like he said it in a disrespectful way and was spoiling for a fight, he simply stated he didn't believe in Jesus which is fine, and he should be allowed to do, church or no. Rahim shouldn't have to pretend he's religious when he isn't, and he certainly shouldn't have to say "God loves you" when he doesn't believe in god, that would be absurd.
I feel like he treated Rahim poorly but at the same time I don’t feel like Rahim and Eric were right for each other. The way Eric felt the need to impress him made me uncomfortable. He lied about his own personality but he’s more honest with Adam.
@@MJFinn How is Rahim an asshole? He's not a good match for Eric, but he always treated him with respect. Eric, on the other hand, cheated on him in front of the whole school.
I had never watched Sex Education until this year and honestly Ncuti Gatwa is amazing as Eric, as a life long Doctor Who fan, I am excited to see him as The Doctor!
Don't get me wrong, I love Adam and him and Eric together, but Rahim was so sweet and felt really bad for him, he really cared about him and wasn't ashamed for who he is. Hope he will be part of season 3.
Am I the only Nigerian that didn't realize Eric is Nigerian??? It's just so crazy to see an African immigrant on tv. I'm just shocked that there's finally representation, and I'm just realizing that there is little to none.
even though adam did all those bullying with eric, throughout the series he evolved and I ship them two. Just wait for 3° season and see what happens whit both
Me: Hey, I've never seen the actor they've chosen to play The Doctor. I'm sure he'll do fine, and also if you wouldn't mind can you link me to some video of him being awesome? Them: *Links this video* Me: *Sold in the first 17 seconds*
I've always had Ace vibes from the Doctor. I prefer if he's one character on TV who isn't seeking romance. Tennant's Doctor was the only really flirty one.
I might be one of few but I never really liked Rahim and Eric as a pair? They were never really on the same page to be honest, some of the scenes felt really awkward. They made it fairly obvious that it wasn't going to work out.
