This was a project dreamed up by Freestyle Custom Guitars and Larry Walker....the man behind the official Facebook page dedicated to Eric Gales and his music. Eric's Links: - www.ericgales.com - / ericgales - / @ericgalesband
saw an old man on Las Vegas Blvd playing upside down like this. strings and all. was the first time i had ever seen it. he was on one of the over pass walking bridges. he even let me play a little too.
I have a Knaggs and it is so Resonate if you hang it by the Headstock and don't let it touch anything else and Pluck the string then touch the body it goes right through it… after seeing I thought all guitars did that they don't!! I have many guitars to check that in!! My Knaggs and the guitar you have there sounds the same… except one difference yours is like half the weight as mine... It's easier to get that with a heavy guitar but, if your goal is to have both that takes a fine Luthier like you have there!!!
@@dannyraysmusicproduction6604 , Thank you! From your comment, I can tell you totally get it. And you are right. It was a challenge to get the resonance at a extremely light weight. I am well pleased that I got it.
@@FreestyleCustomvery cool to talk with thanks… i have seen play around Austin I think but I do keep up with your RU-vid Channel… i just started searching for some of your videos and i found a 1991 Video of playing on the Arsenio Hall Late Night… it Rocked!! Thanks again…
That is one ridiculously reasonant strat. That thing is loud, and super resonant and clear unplugged. I bet that beauty sounds insane plugged in. I just found out about your guitars and I am seriously impressed.
Man I can tell you I’m 40 years old and have played most of my life went to countless guitar shows and tried so many great guitars and out of all of those guitars I can honestly say Eric makes the best I’ve ever played straight up the complete guitar from feel to sound and it’s amazing actually going to the shop and seeing these guitars come to life
You might not have “The Gift,” but I bet the “Charles Robinson Sound” is so sick that others will hear it and say, “Damn! Charles is KILLING IT up there!” Maybe even Eric Gales…!
@@charlesrobinson7469 You’re welcome! I learned the hard way that the comparison thing is a trap. My two all time favorite guitar players are Hendrix and Van Halen. I will *never* function on their level…but I can maximize function on my level. I’m often pleasantly surprised. You can absolutely do the same thing!
This is like when you're in Monster Hunter (specifically Monster Hunter Rise), and you have the best blacksmith in the world making weapons for the best hunter in the world. Epic stuff, fam. Awesome!
He’s playing that shit upside down, literally. Watching him & Mono Neon play together (& bassist who does the same kinda thing) was some of the craziest shit I’ve seen live.. peep more of his live stuff, I guess to him it’s normal & we’re playing shit goofy. 😵💫
As a lefty upside down player myself, I would definitely appreciate the fret dots on the back side 😂 I’ve never had them. But like Eric, I’ve learned to play without them.
I did not realize how much I used them until I bought a lefty Strat years ago. I had it flipped over for me, A righty, and ended up putting dots on it.
Dots both sides would be good.....like the gold frets... .whats the weight? Cool guitar......like roasted maple neck....great guitar playing! Toast to EG! Vintage history......in the tonewoods.....
When I built the first guitar for him, the Crown Guitar, I actually offered to make it a lefty. He is just used to this way, so asked for me to do this.
No, Jimmy played with the strings upside down just like a right handed guitar is strong. He didn’t string them like a left-handed guitar. The low east string was on the bottom of the neck.
Jimi could play with the strings on right handed or Left handed, there are a few videos of him playing other peoples guitars, Quite a few leftys can play that way because so many guitars are strung Righty, But if you zoom in to any picture of Jimi you can see the thickest strings under the string tree, on the top of his neck, it's one of the things that give his strats a unique feel, the plain strings are shorter and his wound strings are longer.
View from the back row....if you were there you would understand the somber day it was. We just got done with a conversation about my wife's breast cancer diagnosis. There is always more to the story.......
We were at the studio he uses. Lol. I have footage of him playing thru his signature combo amp. Working on putting together a more in depth video. I promise there will be footage of him playing thru an amp. Very soon.
