I know! I haven't watched many live videos of his playing, but that's the first thing I noticed; the precision with which he plays is incredible to say the least. Of course the second thing I noticed was that tone so clean you could bleach clothes with it.

I remember being into Satriani, Malmsteen and Vai as a teen. Then I watched this G3 performance with Eric and it changed me. Now As a nearly 40 year old, with a music degree in jazz and a full-time music teaching job, it's a bit harder to knock my socks off. But this guy and this particular performance continues to melt my face every time I hear it, without fail. The most unique lead sound on a strat I've ever heard. Not to mention the most considered melodies. The more you learn, the more you can appreciate Eric.

Players like Eric are rare. He and guys like Robben Ford play in a way that is very deliberate and calculated while also managing not to micromanage the natural flow out of the riffs. I’m not sure if that makes sense but that’s the best way I can put it. Played beautifully and squeaky clean without sounding sterile.

Impeccably played, by every member of the band. So well rehearsed and tight. I also appreciate the wonderful recording production as well making this a treat to listen to on my headphones.

My all time favorite EJ song! This live version is way better than the studio version, IMO. One of the best things about this particular G3 live was because of this song. Long gone are the days when I’d own G3 live DVDs, concerts, making attempts to play like Vai, Satriani and Eric. Good times with great music from these masters. Listen to the Masters of Acoustic Guitar CD(or if not CD now, see if you can find those on RU-vid). Eric played this beautiful song called A Song For Life. I highly recommend!

The Wes/Jimi octaves, the pick hiding, strumming up the neck, God knows how tone, EJ composition and chops. Great drummer and Roscoe. So good. Imagine on your dying day knowing you’ve added this much to the world?
