Dricus does not plan to hit his opponent with the first or second shot, thats just to close the gap and make his opponent commit to a defense, the third and fourth shot is what he plans to land and it works (the sequence) more often than not

Rob should fight for the belt if he gets past Khamzat. No way you make Rob fight another guy on the way to the belt, Rob's a former champ, a top 3/5 MW ever. He beats Khamzat, he fights for the belt no doubt.
The historical precedent is this: a Champion loses his belt in a very close split decision, a truly razor-close fight, the Champion gets the rematch. Immediately. After that fight, a ton of people, including professional fighters, felt Sean edged out the victory. There never should have been another fight for Strickland, and under normal circumstances he would have got the immediate rematch. Dana just saw all those dollar signs that Izzy vs DDP would bring, and he didn't want to risk DDP losing the belt against Strickland. That's it, money came before merit in this case, plain and simple. I think it was better to make that fight with Izzy, I think it ended up being better for the sport and I'm sure it sold a shit ton of ppv buys. But I'm going to give you a hypothetical real quick: Take Izzy out of the equation and follow your line of logic. DDP fought Whitaker and absolutely RAN THROUGH him with a second round TKO. Then took the belt off Strickland in a razor close 5 round war where no man ever established dominance. And no man ever rocked the other, aside from ddp cutting Sean with a shot and Sean swelling up ddp's face no one was ever hurt. Nobody got rocked or threatened a single submission. About as evenly matched as two men could be. How in the world can you say that Whitaker "deserves" that fight over Sean? When Whitaker got dominated and tko'd in the 2nd round? It amazes me how you can make that argument, just dial your emotions back a bit and try to generate a logical opinion. 🤔

Sean won rounds 1,2,3, and 5 based on damage. Ddp threw hella volume but didn't land a damn thing and never did anything with the take downs. If you really think ddp won that fight, you're either politically influenced or you're the mma guru. Can't wait for the rematch, and I couldn't be happier that ddp beat izzy.

Ddp better better be a monster if he expects to beat sean, cause he hasn't beat him yet. Sean: snowboarding the next day Dricus: crawling around the house in agony for the next week. Do the math. This is a damage based sport, but it's turned into a politically correct one.
