Eric Northman scenes Part 1, from True Blood, 2x09, "I Will Rise Up." Made for enjoyment only, I make no profits off of this. No copyright infringement intended. True Blood belongs to HBO.
I cry every time I see this scene. Allan, Alex, and Anna truly did such a terrific job. My heart just breaks for Eric. With Godric's death, he became an orphan for the second time.
Eric's creator was such a pure individual. They had such an honest and healthy bond...so much stronger and more meaningful than any other maker and child bond on this show. Maybe that's why Eric and Sookie are able to connect so well...they're goodness just radiates from the healthy relationships that nourished them.
Say what you want about how this show end up but the death of Godric show us for the first time the feelings of Erik, such a masterpiece, right in the feels😭
It's a testament to all involved in making this scene in True Blood that it gets such an emotional reaction from the audience! I bet even those involved with production work on this get sucked in too!
The score is absolutely brilliant. It evokes a sense of deep pain and sorrow and the finality of what is to come for Godric. Masterful acting by the cast, especially Alexander. Godric was one of my fav characters on this show, he is missed.
I ship sookie with Eric, even though i havent gotten that far in the show.but I really really really ship Eric/Godric whether its friends or more.He loves hiim so much
Fucking love the Swedish dialogue. And as someone who doesn't know how much difference there is between Old Swedish and modern, I totally believe they're speaking Viking Swedish...
Actually by crying he shows exactly how strong and secure he is. Most men will not cry because they are afraid of appearing weak, Eric cried because he feels comfortable allowing his feelings and frustration out. It takes an emotionally mature and strong person to do that.
lol is not abou being manly or weak you fool it about control men only need to cry with times that go beyond their control like the dead of son, parents wife brothers. even dogs. those thinks are beyond human control
Imagine having one thing in your life that's constant. A family member that represents you and all your beliefs. Having spent over 1000 years with him through a world that is forever changing and alien, and knowing you will have that one person, that one constant that takes you through the ages, walking together through time, and then suddenly that person is gone and will forever be gone. Eric literally lost so much and his world in an instant. Godric needed this but still it seems selfish. He gave Eric this life and promised to walk with him, through the dark, forever. It's so sad that he felt he needed to leave.
@Sookiefairygirl Fair point. It really is interesting to notice, however, that he did find the ability to change (or change back, if he was like that as a human)...unlike Russell. And likely 99% of the other vampires out there. Proves he has strong moral fibre :)
i love the vulnerability in it tbh u finally get 2 see eric vulnerable also its so bizarre seeing a young small lad being cried over by such a tall guy kate bosworth u r a lucky bitch lol
yeah eric and godric really portray their epic love... am looking forward to seeing season 3 flashbacks, its a shame we won't be seeing much more of godric though.... hes so popular though, maybe they will do more then 1 flashback ep? did Part 1 of this get taken done? No one has the steamy dream scene i guess cause youtube won't allow it. can't they just have that older then 18 button? sucks! *pouts*
@@michellefernandez3736 Sorry for the super necro, however *slides spectacles back into place*: Godric had not yet released Eric, thus the look of solemn gratitude on Eric's face when he commands that Eric not die by his side. Once progeny are released by their maker, commands of that sort no longer have any power behind them. As to why he didn't bother releasing him; once Godric burns up... release Eric from what? I stopped watching after Season 3 but man do I adore the character of Godric, especially having learned about the little expanded lore they added to him during those webisode things.
Bill needs to disappear and not come back into the series again...Eric is the one that belongs with Sookie. They look better together as well, I love my Nordic God he is so good looking and a great actor
I love Eric!! How annoying is Bill in Season 4, loving Eric so far. Great to see him as a completely different character in this season compared to the last 3!
