Fun fact: Steve Winwood, who sang the song "Valerie" from which "Call on Me" sampled, re-recorded the lyrics "Call on me" specifically for Eric Prydz. That's awesome!
@@trashking8544lol what? You can’t STEAL A SONG FROM SOMEONE WHO DIDN’T CREATE IT! Both acts SAMPLED the same original song by Steve Winwood. Did DJ Falcon STEAL from Steve then, according to your logic?
TheHDFA this video is by Steve winwood in his song called Valerie. Look it up you will find the same video and the same guy. Eric prydz (the creator of call on me) used this video as an example for call on me.
All he did was remix an old Steve winwood song from the 80’s. I like it but he’s not really an artist for this as much of a skimmer (skimmed music/lyrics and beefed up the beat a tad)
Same!!! I'm about to take a nap and all of the sudden, "CALL ON MEEEEEEEE... CALL ON ME!!" my brain is trying to tell me something, something you haven't heard in many years. 🤔 "CALL ON MEEEEEEEE... CALL ON ME!!"
Man so many memories... I was when I 4 i heard this for the first time... kinda makes you realize how fast time is going by... I miss being.little. going on walks with my mom and sister... going to caseys on our walk too... I miss my birds too and we would let them fly everywhere in the house... thanks God for the memories...
Man I remember seeing this video years ago.. glad you brought it back to life. When I first saw this vid, it caused me to find more about Steve Winwood and rediscover his stuff. I actually like this way better than the actual music video for the Eric Prydz song.
+Raikou Wolf Yeah, Eric Prydz's version caused me to listen to the original Steve Winwood song to see what it was like and it is great! Btw, I don't like Eric Prydz - Call On Me's video, this video is so much better!
One of my father's fav song. I was born in 98 and i was raised with 80's music. Evertime i listen to this i think of all the crazy memories my father told me he did during the 80's like doing coke or going to parties of fraternities during his college days. Crazy how music can build a perspective of something without actually living it.
Just so people know. This song was originally made by Thomas Bangalter of daft punk and Dj Falcon which they played in the nineties but never planned on releasing it on Roule (Thomas’ label). Eric prydz heard this and got Steve winwood to re-record the vocals of the original sample from “valerie”. I actually really like Eric Prydz stuff but it always bothered me knowing this 😢
I think it's cool that Eric sampled this song, it gives it a little bit more of a fun dance song. I'm not sure which video I like better, because I think its a cool idea that a guy is singing to a woman directly. But, then the new video is kind of a cool aerobics/yoga montage with a lucky guy in an all women class.
Ikr, this is the best version of this song. The official song felt like a mistake creating, and then releasing it like this video song was perfect. For me, the official one it looked like pornstars dancing on the floor
+Prank Girl Wtf!-You sexist piece of shit!!-How is that not porn with a super sexy Steve Winwood?!-Why?-If there are beautiful, half-clothed women it is porn, but when there is a beautiful, half-clothed man it isn't?!-That's sexist. Fuck off, fascist. 😐😡
I find myself coming back to this video for this song more than the others. I enjoy the mixture of both Winwood's '82 original and the re-released '87 versions of his "Valerie" videos. 👍
