Shame. In my opinion, a restaurant trying to make an unbeatable challenge so they can “win” is against the spirit of food challenges. The point of a challenge is to showcase the food and to test the skills of your customers. They’re called food “challenges”, and a challenge is meant to be tough but not impossible 😅 No offence to you guys or the restaurant of course

When we went to thd UK in 2022, we told our friends there that we wanted fish and chips and they said all thd good ones closed during Covid and they couldn’t recommend any and that we were better off eating something else. Looks like they are still on the recovery two years later.

Much respect to you for being honest, it can help them if they want it to. That is unless all the folks there are into just "plain" food. As far as vid goes, the only big difference between fast ver cut is people seeing the clock run, SOME whiners will say clock was adjusted on the cut ones, I myself say, create how you want, keep trying diff things like you have been, doing something different from others can set you apart from others which could make you stand out. Oh, I support you for calling them out on portion difference, that's THEM CHEATING, they don't allow you to cheat, they shouldn't either. Peace

If you look at Beards post from 1 year ago, the portion size looks appropriate. As for seasoning, you need to add it yourself. Salt and if desired vinegar

I mentioned the record holders time, that was the picture I posted. Beard doesn't have the record, Here cooks/chefs season the food how they want for it to taste when presented, this was sad. I do not wanna finish their job and do it for them. Just a way to save seasonin' I guess. Flour and batter none at all

hey Brandon gotta say love the "construction talk" or witty banter. I like the longer videos as I can click on the video and go lay down across the room and know you will make me laugh along the way. Appretiate your honesty and your videos, we add salt and vinegar once cooked either ask for it or do it yourselves depending how much you like vinegar and salt (malt vinegar is best) also I prefer curry sauce instead of peas. But regarding taste not all chippy’s are the same. Batter and what they fry the chips in matters, I prefer my chips being fried in beef dripping and a beer batter. Hopefully this will help you enjoy the real fish and chip experience.

Not true. Every restaurant, uk and US, has condiments on the table. Whether that's bbq sauce, hot sauce, mustard, horseradish, relish, or salt and vinegar. So that you can season to your own taste. @DaGarbageDisposal

Hey guys when you have eaten some food to burn or irritate your palate and taste buds. Try this to rinse your mouth with after the challenge and every few hours until it heals some. It is a mouth cleanser that some folks use after oral surgery or when having brace adjustments. Can help relieve some pain as well. Can usually be found at local pharmacy or at Walmart or Amazon. It is called biotene. Rinse for about 30 seconds 2-3x per day. Hope this helps

As a local, that food definitely left a lot to be desired. and the amount of food for such a short time limit is completely unreasonable in my opinion. I'm glad you called them out on the discrepancy of the amounts. It did all look good so. But I don't think the British are known for seasoning their food. Whenever I watch British reviewing food in the US they always rave about flavor in food from the US.

Max definitely had the smallest portions, mushy peas included. Looks like Beard had the most w/yalls portions 2nd to his. I think your editing is great. Fast fowarding is okay by me. Adding in the fryball lady everytime a fryball is thrown down is hilarious. Also everytime I see your Tom Cruise slide at the beginning and you wreck I get nervous butterflies even though Ive seen it a million times. Mainly because you are a good person. Keep it up.

I have to agree on bland British food. My cousin married a British lady. We had pot roast at their home one time. The only thing tasty was the soft butter on a roll. We got a burger after we left.

Not everywhere is like that over here. Fish and chips should have salt and vinegar added, that's the flavour. However it does sound like that place wasn't too great. The disparity in size isn't very professional, in fact it's bad PR for the restaurant, it's got to be consistent otherwise it's just unfair. I wish you'd both had a better experience tbh. Anyway it was still enjoyable watching you both, thank you 🙂

When I talk about seasonin' and if you cook, you season the food while you are cookin'. Where I am from and I have always had fish, they season the flour as well as the batter so "seasonin' " needs to be added. A chef will cook the food how they want the person eatin' it to taste it, not have them chef it up later. After that, if you want vinegar and tartar then yes you do that if it is bland as hell lmao. @DaGarbageDisposal It has always been like that. I understand about the seasoning. If I go out for a steak, I get them to season it on the hot plate, which gives it lots more flavour. Most of the 'chipy's' use a powdered batter mix, so is very much the same. It is how we have always had it. Not sure if pre- seasoned would be as popular. It is a case of " lots of salt n vinegar please" but I do understand what you are saying about expecting it already seasoned. Been loving your UK visit with B.O.B. Cheers Brandon.
