Erica Carmona knew from a young age that she would become an educator. Growing up with a father who had limited educational opportunities, the value of education was deeply ingrained in her. This early realization propelled her towards a career in teaching.
Today, she is the elementary education lead at Talent Maker City, a nonprofit in Talent, Oregon. Their goal is to provide hands-on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) education to students and community members. She also teaches professional development courses on computer science and Spanish.
Erica hopes to inspire her students to recognize and act upon their potential. She emphasizes the importance of trying new things and not being limited by self-doubt or external perceptions.
