Imagine being the lucky kid/kids who parents/grandparents have this in their backyward! The joy those kids must have! Even me, at my age being a Trainlover, is bringing tears of joy imagining being able to own and ride this majestic setup! Very well done!
If there is such a thing as reincarnation, in my past life I worked on the steam locomotives. Might have something to do with my ancestors built the steam locomotives, I'm a union boilermaker!
This has to be one of the best mini rail roads I've ever seen! I'd ride those tracks all day long, didn't see much of the loco's but I bet they are stunning 😍
I had to watch the whole thing because of the massive track layout! Somebody put a whole hell of a lot of work into this but I want to see all the little tiny railroad workers that built it!
Pretty cool!!! To ride on this very large layout with an engine looks like fun! This clip entices me to start building an own engine for driving on this tracks! :) Thanks for this cool video!
Oh boy, what a lovely ride through the dark green woods with those nostalgic whistle and mechanical sounds. It's one of the best railroad videos I've ever seen. I wonder how exciting will it be to witness all these actions in the night. Please upload a night action video. Also, do you have diesel locos? I think I've seen a couple of them at 10:39 and 11:15 respectively. Please upload diesel action too. Heartiest compliments for taking us on this wonderful journey.
What a beautiful set up you have. You probably showed the engine in a earlier video, but I would have loved to see the engine and cars. Great video though.
If you have a 25ft x 35ft area in your backyard and around 6k or so to spend you can change that. Won't be quite as elaborate and you'd be running a basic diesel-profile electric switcher with a single riding car behind it, but it's still something.
Retired. VA medically pensioned. Old guy here. Learned Spanish. Now, watching a cool train video about a private steam train setup in the woods. Deep woods. Dark woods. Alone. Earlier, videos all about Michigan Bigfoot... sightings and incidents. Suddenly, working full-time downtown here at a fast food restaurant for a few pesos or even teaching American-English for free have some new-found appeal. Well, that is, if the aliens don't get me first... those videos are really scary. Gracias por tu video. ¡Bien hecho! ... Well done! R.T. West, Colonia Centro Histórico, Puebla, México...
Pretty impressive layout there. The straights could use some straightening and the curves could use some smoothing, but overall, a pretty awesome thing.
I've seen some large Garden railroad videos, but this looks like you had a whole forest preserve to play with. How much land does this cover altogether?
Riding Railkits used to make a relatively affordable (compared to other giant-scale ridable model trains) starter set before the company went under due to poor sales. It came with a basic SLA battery powered 2-axle diesel switcher, a couple gondolas, a seat and a 40' circle of track in 5" gauge. It's a pity, there's literally no good entry point at this scale anymore.
Awesome setup but I wouldn’t want to be breathing that smoke in. Also why does the signal go from a clear to an approach when you throw the switch at 6:00 and 7:20 mark? That doesn’t make sense.
