the way Erik went about opening wakanda may have been screwed up but the message he was trying to send was actually right.

This is brilliant

1 of my favorite scenes that showed me that erik had a reason behind his purpose for what was doing in wakanda was when he drank the herb to take him to the ancestors plain. He visits his father and and his father gives him advice and erik gets to have a man to man talk with his father after losing him as a child and at the end you see that erik is besting his father in the conversation and whatever his father says erik tells him that his ways will be better. And then we see him waking from the ancestoral plain and he jumps up and is breathing heavy which i thought was good detail. He just saw his dead father and had a real conversation with him then be woke up abruptly would make me angry but also i feel he was scared his was in another dream of some sorts and was ready for whatever came up or he wasnt ready to end his conversation with his father and being woken up before he wanted to irritated him he probably felt that since he is king he should be able to have more time
