Paulsen is probably the greatest pure martial artist alive. His knowledge is encyclopedic on just about any type of martial art that exists. Few humans no more about this subject. His fight stories are amazing. If there is a man alive that knows more about how to destroy a human being with the body let him step forward. I do remember him in the early days of mma but i am very happy to experience the treasure he is now. Savant. I learned boxing at a deep level and competed in it as a young man. I also added wrestling jujitsu judo tae kwon do muy thai to my knowledge. I also learned things like traditional japanese jujitsu, hapkido, aikido, some forms of kung fu krav maga, sumo sombo etc. I liked combining the knowledge of small joint manipulation not allowed in mma and other arts. In the beginning of mma boxing was considered weak. Today everyone knows hands are a big deal accounting for the vast majority of stoppages. First jujitsu then wrestling and eventually universal fighters with multiple disciplines emerged. This is great for sport and to see the less lethal techniques deployed in competition. Of course u cant compete with eye gouges, biting, or fish hooks. The whole point of the choke is to kill not to win a trophy. So in the same way alot of people look down on wrist locks and breaking fingers but Im sure Master Paulsen can apply a wrist lovk on someone and turn it into a vicious judo throw or some other horrible sequence. People make fun of steven segall and say that foesnt work in ufc. Yeah bro all the things his movies portray are illegal in sport. He is killing people with it. Can u apply a wrist lock and use it to throw a person into a wall or a desk or something? I know i can. Ive knocked out many people with my fists so i feel prone to thinking first of my hands although in street fights i have thrown people with doubles or suplexes. I dont see myself fighting out if my guard although i can or applying a wristlock. Im more thinking "i shatter ur jaw or we are at peace". I do however believe if i did use those techniques they would work. If i had to put a blade in each hand and start boxing, i could do it. My point in all this is that you should not discount something because it doesnt appear in ufc or because some people think it is fake. The ufc only allows 25% of the sh*t Master Paulsen can do to u at will.
