You watch too much TV. Blackwater did the country a great service during its time in Iraq. They simply followed the terms of their contract with DoS. They never intentionally harmed any civilians during combat operations. In fact, all of the Blackwater contractors who were convicted, had their convictions overturned. Erik tried to get cameras installed on all Blackwater vehicles to prove his guys were following the rules. Guess what? DoS wouldn’t let him do it. The lesson here is that a contractor performing inherently military combat functions is always going to end up getting the short end of the stick. In this case, DoS had plenty of dirty work needing done. They hired Blackwater knowing full well that they were going to get lambasted and take the heat for DoS. And the gullible public (like you) would eat it up. Perhaps if Erik knew that going in, he would have done things differently.
