Dude, I struggle so hard with left and right. We use the "my door, your door" method. Erik's driving and he sits on the left, you turn his door. Collen rides passenger on right, you turn her door. Hence, my door your door. Works like magic when you're a DD too!

I love how comfortable Erik seems to be getting with podcasting ❤️just his body language seems so much more relaxed.

Hi, psych major here. The attention issue with music while driving is super common. It has to do with your executive attention network. You have to devote more mental capacity to driving in locations you aren’t familiar with and you have to turn off the music to do so. Not everyone obviously but a lottt of people lol.

Colleen, you were thinking of Sinterklaas from the Netherlands. They have the tradition of putting oranges in shoes, which over here turned into putting things in stockings. The tradition of bringing trees inside for Christmas was first a part of the pagan celebration of winter solstice.

I DO THE EXACT THING WHILE DRIVING IN NEW TERRAIN. Also, I feel that my whole personality is the most similar to Colleen however, I can drive in complete silence and absolutely need to turn down any sound when needing to focus. This made me giggle because with limited words on Eric's end, I know exactly the feeling. I wonder why some can drive I complete silence and needs to have no noise while driving on new territory...? Believe it or not, but I feel I am a perfect blend of both in one. Thank you to you two for being an online presence in all of your honesty, because I relate to both.

In Australia it is not just the size it is the variety of spiders with venom. When my sister lives there, she had a poster with all of the different types so you could check. Also, you always checked your shoes. You never put shoes on without checking.

Sinterklaas is Dutch, and we put chocolate letters (usually the first letter of someone's first name) in shoes. We put the shoes by the fire, because Sinterklaas was supposed to come through the chimney, and the morning after there would be chocolate letters in them. Sometimes kids leave carrots or sugar cubes for Sinterklaas' horse and drawings for the man himself. There's also a moment for present, 'pakjesavond', on December 5th. The day after Sinterklaas leaves the Netherlands for Spain, where he lives.

My husband and I BOTH turn the music down when we at getting close to our destination or if we get into traffic. We can also go without music. Even if I’m by myself, I don’t need music to drive somewhere- I do LOVE music but I don’t have to have it on. I love listening to books if I have one. If we have a long drive, I tell my husband to take a nap while I listen to an audio book, sometimes if he’s driving I’ll be the DJ & the navigator

Colleen is so right about the driving thing!! My boyfriend drives the same way as Erik and it drives me nuts/makes me so nauseous! When I'm driving, I try so hard to make the ride smooth for passengers, and it baffles me when other people don't do that. Just brake earlier and accelerate smoothly!

Heyy Colleen and Erik, im from the netherlands and here we have a holiday before christmas, its on the 5th of december, where Saint Nicholas "sinterklaas" comes with a steamboat from spain to the netherlands, then at the 5th of december he knocks at your door and leaves a bags of presents on the doorstep for young children, the days leading up to it children put a shoe underneeth the fireplace and leave a drawing and a carrot or suggar cubes in/next to the shoe, then the "pieten" (the helpers of sinterklaas), will come down the chimney, take the drawing, and the carrot for the horse of sinterklaas named Amerigo, and leave a chocolate letter and other Saint Nicholas candy we call "pepernoten", for little kids this is the most exciting holidays of the year, when they're around 6 to 9 years old they find out is was their parents all along, there is much more to this holiday, like there is Saint Nicholas news everyday on tv where they follow the journey of the steamboat to the netherlands, where almost always something goes wrong and the kids are worried if theyre gonna get their presents, and if you were naughty that year "you wont get presents and will be taken in the bag of Saint Nicholas back to spain", i know this sounds really weird but here it is a real tradition, x Romy

Crazy PB&J method: my hubby's grandmother always added a super thin layer of butter when he was super little because she thought it would stop it from sticking and prevent choking. I do it now. And it is absolutely amazing. Oh, and always peanut butter before jelly.

I agree with Erik on the turning down the volume thing; it's much easier for me to talk to people in the car/ find a parking spot and such if the volume is lower. However, I highly disagree with Erik's use of the accelerator. Kindly, I HATE when people do this and I would get sick.

Me too about the music. I turn the music up to relax and for drives that I do all the time. Stressful drives , loads of traffic or being somewhere new the music is turned down or off. I can totally relate to Erik.
