Ambrus Tövisházi is a prolific Hungarian songwriter, record producer and film score composer. He is the founder and bandleader of Amorf Ördögök and Péterfy Bori & Love Band - two successful genre-hopping Alternative Pop acts from Budapest. He recently wrote and performed songs for award-winning Hungarian black comedy Liza, the Fox-Fairy. In parallel to his career in commissioned music, he has been writing and releasing his own music as Erik Sumo since 2002.
His latest album Mount Fuji released 8 years after 2011's The Ice Tower, is a trip into his world of 1960s Movie Soundtracks, Dub, Reggae, oddball World Disco, French Chanson, Asian Rare Grooves and dark, Cohen-like Rock Ballads. It is a strange and unique pop record with three amazing female singers, packed with great melodies and sounds never heard before.
His seven-piece Erik Sumo Band has been around since 2005 when Ambrus's first album My Rocky Mountain was released on Stuttgart's Pulver Records. Before going on a hiatus around 2011, they have played many European clubs and festivals. A revitalized Erik Sumo Band with new members is planning to play a handful of gigs in 2020 at select festivals.
MOUNT FUJI IS OUT ON CD, DIGITAL AND LP
