I passed first time today with 3 minors. I wasn't a natural, It took me 67 hours of lessons and extra practice to be ready for the test. Such a great feeling to have passed. Thank you for the videos, they've been so helpful.

This is why learning to drive should include basic mechanical lessons on the car so the student understands mechanical sympathy.

Six weeks after passing her test, Erin is already letting bd habits creep in. As Amen says, driving rules like mirrors, speed limits etc aren’t just to pass a test, they are they for safety reasons.

Erin needs to learn to stop coasting when braking and coming to a stop. Some feedback to give. She will soon chew through her brakes. Brake with clutch up and go down the gears if necessary, only putting clutch down just before coming to a stop to prevent stalling the engine

Many years ago, after my brother passed his test in London, I sourced a used car for him. Within a month, the clutch had failed. I felt responsible as I'd checked the car over, so put a clutch in it for him. Once done, I asked him to road test it with me in the car, to see what he might have been doing. He used the clutch pedal as a footrest, and was adamant that he was taught to cover the clutch at all times. I explained to him that it might be OK in constant traffic, but not generally. He understood, luckily.

As others have said we need a spin off series with Erin on her car journeys just talking about her life as she's brilliant and hilarious.

This lady, no matter how nice as everyone keeps mentioning, certainly is too much of a risk on the road to have a valid full licence. It's a danger to herself and others. Clearly got lucky with a pass, but this video demonstrates she's still in need of much learning before being a trustworthy road user. I hope she will acknowledge her issues and nuckle down on the areas she's lacking in

It's somewhat scary that this lassie has her licence. Nothing is her fault, it's a 'stupid' roundabout, a 'stupid' clutch, a 'stupid' junction... She's a danger. She was clearly on her 'best' behaviour here and scared the shite out of me with her recklessness and lack of awareness.

Started this video happy to see Erin was back and by the end of it was completely annoyed by her. She doesn't want to admit when she is wrong and only agrees to appease Aman. It's a question of when, not if, she will seriously hurt someone the way she is driving, and even if that doesnt happen she will damage her car at some point. Erin listen to the qualified instructor and the questions she is asking you. She is doing it so you can be safe, not just for the hell of it. Also dont just follow other car users, they might be clueless, and even if they are doing what is right for them at that moment in time, it might not be right for you to do the same thing as you're in a different position on the road.

It might sound silly 😜 but when anyone passes their test i wouldn't recommend putting the pass sticker on the car, i feel people will get angry 😡 if you stall or are slow moving off they'll put pressure on you beeping or getting right behind you. 😮

Poor Erin, i passed 3 weeks ago and i was driving home from work and my car wouldnt stop beeping didnt know why started panicking, door wasnt closed properly 😂 didnt realise till 3 days later thats why!

3:12 - my Citroen c1 didn't have a rev counter. I spent £40 on a digitial rev counter connected to the OBD port. Works really well on any car, and i can time my 0-62mph figures as well, as well as see my exact revs as a digital value on the rev screen.

I passed 6 months ago and recently broke down on my way to work and yes the clutch had burnt out and I’ll never forget that clutch smell! The RAC guy said it’s often the case with new drivers. Now had a new clutch fitted which cost me £500 and have hopefully learnt from my errors!

Hey, I think sometimes it’s difficult to switch cars. So if you have learnt in a pretty new car then most people get a fairly used one it takes some getting used to. I passed in a similar car in June so I have found it easier. Xx

Good to see Erin's driving solo, but ohhh god, she burnt the clutch and her parents had to pay £500? No rev-counter? Don't do that too many times or your parents will get fed up and make you pay for new clutches instead! Not a good price to pay! :D I wish her well though, just don't do the dangerous stuff and you'll be alright. Also the pink in her hair is your red jumper. Sunlight bounces off coloured objects and splashes on nearby unlit objects. Light physics!

it's like she doesn't have any intention of fixing her mistakes she is blames other drivers and passengers for her mistakes and dismisses that it was her mistake hope she acknowledges her mistakes seriously and learn from them.

It’s really sad to see people aim to just pass the test, quickly shed the rational driving approach and pick up bad habits. As an instructor Aman might giggle but deep down she isn’t happy. Erin’s driving standards are falling. I recently passed my test this month after a long wait (due to covid and all), and went through same phase to relax and pick up bad habits. I took a pause and didn’t drove for 2 days (against my nature) and told my self - I learned to become something better. I will stay focused and still keep learning to drive logically. The adrenaline is high after you pass. But step back and gain your control, else ramifications would be undesirable.

Hi Aman, you looked surprised when you heard Erin did not have a rev counter in her own car. I learnt to drive without a rev counter(had an analogue clock in its place), induction of when to change gears, ABS, parking/collision sensors, power steering etc(old school Peugeot 106), these are things all newer cars come with as standard now. I was taught to use the sound of the engine and the feel of the car with regards to when to change gears and getting to the biting point along with not riding the clutch. I’ve now driven cars with both rev counters and indication for when to change gears. I rarely use them as I’m use to driving without these features modern cars have as it was drummed into me when I was learning. This was over 20 years ago since I learnt to drive from my father who was a driver examiner at the time who taught me this way. You may already do this, but it maybe worth teaching your clients to drive using the sound of the car engine and not relying on the rev counter and gear change indication(designed to be echo with regards to changing gear but might not be suitable for the road conditions), so when getting into older cars without these features your learners will know how to handle changing gear and finding the biting point without the use of these features through the sound of the engine/feel of the car, as this might have been what Erin was missing here when she got into her own car with out the rev counter and burning the clutch.

£500 for a new clutch in London seems like a very good price, but not one you should be doing anyway. It's a hell of a job I've done 2 DIY on my driveway. Dad and son labour rates are lots of cups of tea and a few beers afterwards. Good times! I don't know what car Erin drives now, but if it doesn't have a rev counter then I am pretty sure it won't have 6 gears either. My old beginner Fiesta 1.1 had no rev counter and 5 gears was luxury to the usual 4 back then. Always fun to see Erin. I would watch her youtube for sure.

The clutch is burning more so like you say because of lots of hill starts or maybe using it a lot in heavy traffic to creep forward, or if you sit there balancing the car stationary with the clutch to avoid rolling back rather than just going handbrake and neutral

There's no way Erin has burnt her clutch out on her Car, it must have been on it's last legs, they usually last for between 60,000 Miles or a lot more 🤔 🤷. My current little Toyota 1.4Ltr Diesel has 127,000 Miles on it and has never had a clutch replaced although many moon's ago my 1st Car needed a new clutch after only a few weeks of me driving it 😂😂but it was an old Banger with 95,000 Miles on it. I Guarantee your new Clutch will last until the end of it's life.😊👍👍👍

I just dont see how people do not pay for their own cars/repairs. I would never expect anyone to pay for my clutch/repairs on my car. It is my responsibility. If people cannot afford to pay for repairs, any damage etc, they shouldnt be driving. Running cars is not cheap.
