Eritrean Kirar Tutorial by Hade1Hade: Part 1 

Hadehade, the fact that you teach out information about Eritrea and our beautiful tribes in a way that is impartial and fair is very professional. You deliver the message in an easy but yet elegant way. Keep up the great work.

I mentioned it in the video...Kirar generally uses the pentatonic scale CDEGAC. Its not always in the scale of C major, you can tune it to whatever scale you want. Thats the difference with guitar and kirar. With a guitar, all the scales can be played without retuning. A kirar, you have to retune your strings to play a different scale. And the benefit of kirar is you will likely not have a deviation in string sound because there are no frets: what you tune your string to is the sound you get.

This was so helpful because I am both Ethiopian and Eritrean and I unfortunately only speak Amharic while the majority of Krar tutorials are in Tigrinya. So thank you !

ohh i see what you are saying. No there is no specfic note strings for each kirar. All the strings on a kirar are generally of the same size. I buy the thinnest or second to thinnest guitar strings available. lol glad you enjoyed my video

Wow you always amaze me with your talents & the willingness to share. I know in person this cool Eri gal. She is well educated, down to earth, beautiful , multi talented, the pride of all Eritreans in the city we both living at, incredible willingness to advocte and teach anything related to Eritrea. What really stuns me is that she learned and perfected Kirar while she lived outside Eritrea, the best phrase that I can think of to coin her with is " impossible is nothing"..[ this is Orotta:) ]

I am eritrean I play a little guitar hdarb ethnic have different tune on krar they also play it completely different I learn how long time ago but I forgot now it would be interesting if you can bring a hdarb kirar playing to you tube Hdareb is one of the main ethnic groups in eritrea
