Âşık Veysel (born Veysel Şatıroğlu; 25 October 1894 - 21 March 1973) was a Turkish ashik and highly regarded poet of the Turkish folk literature. He was born in the Sivrialan village of the Şarkışla district, in the province of Sivas. He was an ashik, poet, songwriter, and a bağlama virtuoso, the prominent representative of the Anatolian ashik tradition in the 20th century. He was blind for most of his lifetime. His songs are usually sad tunes, often dealing with the inevitability of death. However, Veysel used a wide range of themes for his lyrics; based on morals, values, and constant questioning of issues such as love, care, beliefs, and how he perceived the world as a blind man.

You should listen to İlhan İrem . He is one of the best musicians in Turkey but unfortunately an underrated one. Especially "Olanlar Olmuş" and "Konuşamıyorum " are highly recommended to you :) Respects :))

That guy who play & sing with Cem Adrian was Musa Eroğlu, he is master of instrument named “bağlama”, he is one of the most famous musician/singer of turkish traditional music. By the way Erkan Oğur is the creator of fretless guitar, he uses that device named ebow amazing on guitar, u need to hear

The instrument is called baglama, 6 strings. You are exactly right about your comment regarding the type of music you are hearing. This is one of the best examples of authentic Turkish folk music.

The instrument that youve been hear is saz( bağlama). Typically the instrument has 7 string and musical notAtion is not classical european style. Because Turkish music start to use european style notes composing in Ottoman Era with mehter team . And this instrument older than mehter team. Saz and bağlama are the almost same instrument but it depends on region,City or even town . İt looks Same from far but as i said acc. To place the type long or short or the number strings can be different. Welcome to Vibe of diversity. İ mean you can find all kind of vibes in Turkish music regardless of the Singer. Cause emotion is vital in Turkish culture. You can sens from the song that the story of the song
