ERME024 || Four Wheel Steering System (4WS) By Ercoms.com-
Four-wheel steering (4WS) allows the front and rear wheels of a car to be steered in the same or parallel direction at the same time. This system is also known as Quadra steering.
4WS has several advantages, including:
1.Quicker steering response
2.Smaller turning radius
3.Better stability at higher speeds
4WS works by regulating the angle and direction of the rear wheels in response to speed and driver's steering. The system is electronically controlled.
The first active 4WS car sold in the U.S. was the Prelude. However, Nissan's Japanese-market R31 Skyline was launched earlier, in late 1985.
Current generation 4WS systems are electromechanical. A computer operates the system according to the steering input and vehicle speed.
