@@jimmyonus5478 cancer is as much genetic as it is a product of bad habits. Quite a few classic movie stars died of cancer but a lot did not, regardless of smoking ( the vast majority of them smoked back in the day).
An Oscar winner and star of several t.v. series, and here he is, a typical "grandpa". I hope to have a 10th as much class as Mr. Borgnine. Just a genuine great guy.
He was also great as helicopter pilot Dominic Santini on Airwolf from 1983-86 alongside with actor Jan-Michael Vincent from the old days on television.
Yeah I know I have the DVD Box Set of Airwolf, I've always enjoyed that show growing up as a child whenever my Dad played the tapes of it. I'm very sorry to hear about Ernest Borgnine, Jan Micheal Vincent and Alex Cord's deaths they will be truly missed.
Some of the characteristics that most of today's ”celebrities” will never possess…” likability” and being ”just one of the guys”. Ernest had those traits in spades. I guess that there are things that you can not learn in acting school.
That annoying reporter ,He can’t Even stopped to get ice cream without the press hounding him he can’t go on a vacation and enjoy himself because the local paparazzi from Iowa is stocking him in dairy queen. GRRRRR, bless his heart he was so gracious and decent to the damned annoying people, he was one of a kind I always loved him. Rest in peace Ernest Borgnine ♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️♥️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I started watching Ernie as he goes on the road. One of the greatest actors of all time. Humble, comedy, rage, whatever, he could do it. I thank God he lived to be 95!! RIP
What a wonderful gentleman Ernie was! I watch Mchales Navy still, and I'm 58. Watching Ernie enjoy that chocolate dipped cone makes me want to go find a Dairy Queen, or Dairy Sweet!! 😋
Would loved to have sat down with Ernie just for a few minutes and listened to anything he had to say. He looked like he could be a tough you know what but then that laugh and smile. RIP Ernie, a true American Treasure.
Dude has an Oscar, is widely respected by his peers, beloved by millions, and deeply missed....but the coolest thing about him without a doubt is HE WAS ON AIRWOLF!!!!
So nice! Marty was my grandpa’s favorite movie and I can’t see Borgnine without thinking of him. He loved Marty because it captured Bronx life pretty accurately for that time. Paddy Chayefsky was a (problematic) genius, too.
How can you not love Ernest Borgnine? A great actor but more than that...a good human being. Someone who treats people with decency and respect. He knew that wherever he went people would want to talk to him, get a picture and autograph, and he took that time with them. R.I.P. Ernest
I have been a huge Ernest Bornine fan since childhood. He was one of a kind and is sorely missed. Dairy Queen, Dairy Delight whatever ... Sometimes the knock-off sort of throwback Mom & Pop ice cream joints are really great. Texas is full of Dairy Queens, every little one horse town has one and or a Sonic Drive-in. I grew up on the east coast and frozen custard was all the rage and I can finally get it here. A few midwestern chain's like Freddy's, Culver's, Andy's and others have recently opened locations throughout the west and even as far north as Wyoming and south to Texas. And that's a good thing!
That reporter lady must have just dropped everything when she heard Ernie was in town and scooted on down there. This is an amazing moment, true cinema verite.
I had met him at his Doctor's office in Beverly Hills not long before his passing. He was very friendly and respectful to me and especially to the office/medical staff. I had the impression that they knew him for a good amount of time because they were very comfortable and jokingly with each other.
Ernst did so many great movies and other roles. However, my favorite was the role he did in one episode of Little House on the prairie. Nothing big but he did such a good job. He played the role of johnathan, and he lived on a mountain. Laura ran away from home and she stayed with him until her father found her.
Guy provided so much entertainment in the films. I was gonna pass this by and I’m glad I didn’t. I feel like I spent a summer evening with Ernie and son with some good decent folks! Loved seeing Ernie enjoy that cone. Seemed like a real decent fella.
Film Legend! Remember "Escape from New York" and the Centurion in Jesus of Nazareth just to name a very few iconic roles. No actor today would walk into that place.
he made 2 appearances on the tv western wagon train,in one he played earl packer a bounty hunter and in the other one he played an alcoholic.he was outstanding in both of those episodes
Bad Day at Black Rock, the Dirty Dozen. The Wild Bunch, From Here to Eternity. So many more. A great actor and a down to earth gentleman. Enjoy all the dipped cones you want in heaven Ernie.
Love Borgnine but I found it funny that he COUNTED his change and questioned if he got shorted. "That's all?" I'm surprised he didn't say, "Keep the change." He had a net worth of $15 million dollars when he died.
Ernest Borgnine was an amazing man. One of the real men of a generation past. Loved him in every tv show or movie he ever played in. I pray he knew the Lord as his personal Saviour. I'd love to see him again...
OMG! How did I get here in the Twilight Zone with Ernist Borgnine!!! How many kids does it take to make an ice cream anyway lol see the reporter with her fancy paper. I bet those kids are still working there 😂 Great Actor Ernist was. :)
What a bunch of goons, too many employees standing around doing nothing on a slow day. He even got charged for the ice cream. Seems like a good guy in person and he ordered one of my favorites, a chocolate covered vanilla.
