Invincible Shield screams Richie. It’s aggressive, cuts hard, and blends neo-classical with blues into incredibly satisfying metal. Priest upped their game when Scott took over for Les and I feel the same about Richie replacing KK. They’re delivering phenomenal metal and I love it. Long live The Priest.
Always been a fan of Richie Faulkner, he just seems like such a genuine guy. Always giving 100% of himself back to the music and back to the fans. Also, still a fan himself, which I really like!
While I was sad that K.K. Downing left Judas Priest in 2011, I always believe things happen for a reason because having Richie Faulkner as his replacement is one of the best things to have ever happened.
What a bloke Richie is. Humble, honest, grounded, loyal, but also cool AF and simply an awesome guitarist. He indeed saved Priest, but has done so much more for British, and World, Heavy Metal. Long may he rock!!
Richie not only saved Priest but saved heavy metal DNA that makes it great , never met him but he seems like a great genuine person , there's no one else I'd want representing metal in the new age but him . I also feel a certain friendship toward him since I too have a chest full of mechanicals keeping me above the dirt , long live the Falcon .🤘
He is a wonderful player and person. One of the greatest and has brought new energy and ideas to a legendary band I have loved for 40 years. Firepower is one of the best Priest albums ever made, along with painkiller and screaming for vengeance.
Love what Ritchie does. Such a good player. Love his signature guitar. Love how he plays. One of my favorites in the game. AND a solid chap to boot. Yesssssssssssss !!~
I’ve been listening to Judas Priest since the late 70s . I have the utmost respect for all prior and current members . Richie Faulkner is the best guitarist of his generation . Not just his playing but the music sets him a cut above the rest . His style is all his own and at this point it’s very obvious when it’s him playing he’s inspired and influenced me . He’s well deserving of his occupational position . Incredible story .
His tone is fairly unique. Pretty processed sounding, but it works perfectly for Defenders era Priest and the band's newest records he's played on. Such a tight player with a great sense of rhythm.
Great how Richie came up as a player and got a gig with one of the greatest heavy metal bands ever seemingly out of the blue! That's just incredible and something I as a fan have dreamed of 😌 Cheers Richie!
Richie is a really great guitar player but with every interview I’ve seen he seems to be an even better person. At 53 years old, I’ve never been a huge Judas Priest fan but I am a fan of Richie and his overall persona… Really great interview.
Nice bloke. He is the true Painkiller. BTW - was a huge Ernie Ball fan for years, but lately have gone to GHS Boomers. The Ernie Ball strings had a tendency to rust even inside the packet before you put them on the guitar. Rock on, Richie!
Richie..my friend you deserve every bit of this magic moments with JP,you are great guy and amazing player! The minute I saw your covers of Hendrix on you tube I knew what a tastefull and inspiring musican you are.All the best from Croatia.Max
Ritchie Rich and the Flying V 💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲💲🤘🍺🍻🍺🤘🧙♂️🧙♂️ Zakk Wylde,Doug Aldrich should get together with Ritchie and do an instrumental record. It would be interesting.
Awesome interview! Richie has such a great attitude about the band, the music, and guitar. Yes, every minute of every day has some thought of guitar in it. :)
He is actually one of the Few Replacement Guitar Players I Like, many times a new guitarists will NOT do Good on a new studio Album example Vivian cambel - Def Leppard, & Tommy thayer - KISS. Fire power Really show cases Faulkner Talents.
I thought the Priest vibe would change slightly after Ken left but fortunately you are the perfect replacement and extra punch, I think Priest needed. Been a fan since 1979 and play many priests covers on guitar, especially Firepower. Love it, love the power and the whole feel of the album. Redeemer was just as awesome. Thank you, Richie, for your major contribution. PS. I'm here if Glen ever needs a humble replacement to keep Priest alive! Cheers and God Bless. studio.ru-vid.com/show-UCwl_bOKZI-0zflcahtwDwMgvideos/upload?filter=%5B%5D&sort=%7B%22columnType%22%3A%22date%22%2C%22sortOrder%22%3A%22DESCENDING%22%7D
I used to break strings often but then I switched to Ernie Balls. Best strings ever Regular Slinky 👍 all my guitars have regular slinkys, all but my mij Fender Tele I used Fender strings to try and wish I put EBs
Thank you Ernie Ball for investing in these stories and videos. Not everyone gets it, most companies are too cheap or are just crunching sales numbers.. Ernie Ball gets it. Great quality video and interview. Reminds me, I need to get some strings! 🤗
More Rock and Roll artists from the 60s to the present have played Ernie Ball Strings, and probably the string of choice on more hit records than any other brand. They have quite a roster of players from the last 50+ years. Pretty Impressive...
Ritchie has fast become one of my fav's to listen to. He does have his own sound and style and it easy to pick out. He raised Priest up higher since he's joined. Great stage presence, great player and when Priest does call it a day I look forward to still having the Falcon to enjoy listening to!
His work on stage is rarely acknowledged. I've seen JP 5 times now, Ritchie watches his part of the crowd like a hawk. He communicates a lot, makes and/eyes gestures to make sure everyone is ok, gives smiles, guides the hand clapping and now even does backing vocals. This Guy is becoming more of a stage presence than Rob himself 😊
