Extremely frustrating and u would think in a GUITAR play through you would hear the GUITAR the most 🤦🏼♂️I’m a drummer and it still annoys me how I only hear drums and vocals
Yeah. I just put my amazing headphones on and still can’t hear the cleans much and a lot of the guitar with the clean vocals. But that’s just their style I guess. The solo is super fucking audible. I guess the guitar play through shouldn’t have just used the audio for the album. Their first albums focused a lot more on the guitar I thought anyways. Seven is forever an OP song
@@Sum41FanNumberOneI can clearly see that you don't play guitar, neither you sing. Point of my comment was that he doesn't play LEAD guitar and sing, when he sings he plays RHYTHM guitar, because singing and playing lead is pretty hard, playing rhythm and singing is not.
This dude genuinely is the most underrated guy in the business, for real. You'll find more riffs in ONE Erra song from any album of theirs, than a lot of other bands entire fucking albums.
@@oceandreams9625 the bassist also is a guitarist and he helped write moments and drift you can look their update videos and the videos they post to their instagram
I think Erra (especially currently) is good at holding back something so what is forefront can be recognized first. Some bands it's just everything on loud and it loses quality
@@spenserdark1290 But this is a playthrough. It's supposed to show you how the song is played and a major part of that is actually hearing what the guitarist plays.
I dunno about these guys, but if I know I want to write a fast part, I slow it down so I can write something melodic and interesting and not just sweeping a chord or going up and down a scale.
Robbie Jones he usually plays the rhythm parts when singing, but regardless a phenomenal musician! Although there was one song that he tapped and sang at the same time. Absolutely insane.
If you want to play complicated parts and sing, all you have to do is slow it down and then you learn where the notes interact. Like you might sing a note, then an eighth note later you play a guitar note. You have to think of them both as one part. Man it's really hard to explain, but it's like using left and right hands on a piano, or using all your appendages as a drummer. The more complicated it is the harder it becomes obviously, you also need to be skilled at both singing and playing the guitar, but it's not as difficult as someone who hasn't tried it might believe. If you can sing the vocal, and play the guitar parts individually without too much effort, then with practice it shouldn't be too hard for you to do both at the same time. Just slow it down to the point where you can do both (that might be 60 bpm, it doesn't matter so long as you can actually do it), and speed it up gradually until you're at the right speed. I can solo and sing at the same time for example, so long as I'm not improvising the solo and I have practiced both parts individually and together. You just stop thinking about it, and do it, like you would anything else you practice enough.
^ Yup. It’s an RG752LW I believe, or some iteration of an RG752 at least. The stock model has nickel colored hardware rather than gold, and doesn’t have a pickguard. The gold hardware, pickups, and pickguard were all modifications done by the dudes at Ibanez due to his endorsement.
Yes I fully agree. Expiate is my favourite song of the new album. And especially the last 50s of the song is overwhelming. I can't hold my feelings everytime I'm listening to it. It has something godlike.
If God was real, and played guitar, he would play a natural finished guitar with gold hardware, no doubt in my mind. Such a beautiful guitar. Probably plays like a fuckin dream. 😍❤
I think he also added the pickguard to match the wood color, because the stock version of this Ibanez doesn't have any pickguard, it turned out even better visually with it imo
Love how Reddit and RU-vid complains about ERRA losing its touch yet the technicality is still there, just the vibes are different. Awesome work! Sumerian, set the guys up with a headliner tour 2019. Please.
Dude Erras guitar and drum work blows me the fuck away with every new release. The reason people say that is because this fucking vocalist just doesn’t belong with that sound. I want GARRISON BACK. Without garrison erra lost it’s true magic for me despite me loving each new release. I just can’t get into those god dam vocals. Even Ian sounded at least somewhat like him.
Jesse is such a blessed man. I fucking miss the old days when Augment dropped, those were the days i felt this band absolutely unstoppable, there was no one capable to replicate the sound they had plus their lyrics were so on point in every song... I truly believe that album has been the best i've ever heard.
@Kawaii Imouto he wrote 3 songs in augment if i remember right. including dementia and hybrid earth. (correct me if im wrong) and those were the most memorable ones in augment
Dude his fretting hand is all over the damn place... I thought some of the guitar parts were some synth shit but na... This fuckin robot is playing that shit and singing 😂 it's just insane how much talent is in this band.
Fucking brilliant guitar playing... a complete underrated guitar player in an underrated band! And this guy is even a great singer... playing this and singing this live! Crazy! I saw these guys opening for August burns red and damn I left the show wanting to hear more from these guys than ABR!
Once you listen to ERRA you can’t go back and listen to something simpler. Like dang, the melodic aspect of every song and both vocals are just fucking grand.
@@greysilence7941 I agree to an extent. I think Erra has tastier, more memorable riffs whereas Architects reels me in because of Sam's vocals/lyrics, though the riffs can sound good too but a lot of their stuff can sound the same. I'm hoping their new album proves me wrong.
Jesse is the man ! Great show at House of blues in Chicago ! I was posted up in the back jamming out avoid to get hit from the pit ... everyone posting funny as shit ... sounds like texas in july screamer and the leads from ghost atlantas ! lol ..... Jesse's clean's are amazing glad they have JT .... Keep it up!!!
The problem is you can't appreciate them playing with how terrible the new album is mixed. Sorry but Periphery, Architects and Northlane just have way better production on their albums
After relistening to this album and watching this guitar playthrough, it's really such a shame that the mix was so poor. Some of these riffs are just inaudible :(
Jesse is doing a crazy amount of stuff here but the recording quality of this album really muted the guitar sound to just muddled noise its a shame. Same thing happend with the reroute to remain album by in flames
This guy is one of the best out there for sure. That's what i love with Erra, they're not trying to be the heaviest or most technical band ever, they just want to be the the best at what they're doing and it totally works. This is pure passion 👌

They’re in two different ball games. Not just saying technically either, their music is very different and there’s no reason for them to work together.

Saw them play it live last wednesday at the Orpheum with 3 of my buddies, fuckin’ fantastic. We got guitar picks from The Acacia Strain, ATB and Make Them Suffer. Phenomenal playing, man. Can’t wait to see you again.
This is one fucking technical song but I’m pretty sure that guitar player isn’t actually playing along with the song in this if he is then props but that is insanely to clean to not be fake
Eh. It's cool to... watch? But that's about it. Other wise it's just listening to the song. In the future, you guys need to actually record the guitar and play that track a little louder than what's recorded on the actual album's track. Can't really hear it over the vocals on a lot of parts.
I hope the intro of the clean vocals could continue without the growls, would have been a different vibe as a whole and I think more unique. More of a tesseract deftones thing. But Erra style. All bands do the same formula. It’s more like after the burial. The Outro is so like after the burial, parkway drive. Perhaps if they put the clean vocals in the Outro instead of the growls it really would be much better, more intense I would say. Haunting. Cleans with perhaps some falsetto. Would have been an admirable song. But I still love erra and this song. Great work.
I swear if this is the same guitarist who also does cleans I quit music altogether lol no but really he is so good and I love how many styles he mixes in to everything. Just dont know how he plays that groovy breakdown part without a stank face on tho cause I wouldn't be able to resist lol
