Every single band member is fantastic at what they do, but I don’t think it’s a reach to say Jesse is one of the best metal composers we’ve seen in quite some time.
@@amrikcrow3573 Yup. Erra won’t resonate with everyone, as wild as that is to realize sometimes, but anyone who can’t appreciate the musicianship/craftsmanship here is just out of it. Some bands/artists just break the mold and truly show that they are composers, more than just musicians. Writing catchy/memorable hooks isn’t enough for that. You have to be able to do that while purposely using them to create a journey/soundscape. Knowing when to create tension, how to release it… When to create space, when to crash in, etc
Dude, you make me want to sit with you and have a few drinks, smoke a cigar, and of course.... Listen to and discuss music! Amazing videos. Love the music, your honest reviews, keep it up man!
Glad to see you liked this too. I’ve seen people say the heavy/soft contrast is “bad” but I think it was done intentionally and it works. It’s a feels song with heavy elements, not a heavy song with feels sprinkled around. That’s just my opinion tho
@@uolegullook3847 it’s on his Instagram after they finished touring. He said he was gonna record an entire ERRA record and finish his ghost atlas record
Best and most dynamic song they’ve ever put out. To me, it finally felt like a breathe of fresh air. Everything they write eventually just sounds exactly the same in almost every aspect, but this song felt like it had life and different moving parts. I’ve always been a big fan of ERRA, but wanted so much more. This is it!!
So.. your complaint is that they have a signature sound? Hate to break it to you, but that's not actually a bad thing. If ACDC existing for 4-5 decades, whose to say that a band can't have a signature sound? They can. I genuinely would like to know of one band that has a vocalist whose stuff DOESN'T sound vaguely similar between songs.
I don't think a song has ever hit me this hard. You're right, it evokes emotion, I felt like I wanted to cry for some reason. Absolutely remarkable, ERRA encapsulated at their apex.
Can't wait for the rest of the tracks March ! This felt like a send off track , might be just me. Love these guys , go see them live ! Amazing. New ghost atlas later this year, thought I heard ghost atlas in this song too 🤣 captures all they do well.
I found myself comparing the heavy/melodic contrast to newer Contortionist, specifically the Language album. Obviously it isn't a 1 to 1 comparison, but I think the contrast 100% works in this case. Love ERRA, love this song.
I saw Erra live on the ABR tour. I’m going to see them in april. This is making me so incredibly hyped. They were my AOTY in 2021, excited for their future.
The last time I've heared a cool deluxe version of an album was Daybreaker. I'm guessing that this deluxe version of ERRA's self-titled will exceed any exepctation I could have
I didn't know this would come out until a few days ago. This was an awesome. Yes, worth all the metal faces! I thought it would be a softer song after that beginning, but blew me away.
Erra is godtier...my god! I'm also really hyped for the covers they will do. How some people didn't put the Erra album in their top 10 Albums of last year is just ridiculous. (iirc you were one of them right, you fucking rascal! :D)
I'm Super Keen To See How The 4 Remaining Songs Sounds Like... This One İs Their Best Song After Shadow Autonomous... I Really Want To Bite That Main Riff .....🤤🤤🤤🤤 And That Breakdown Is the Cherry on top of the Cake 😘😘😘😍😍
Man those muse and NIN covers are super interesting to me. I can almost hear them now. No shade to audioslave, rip Chris. This and the lost in the waves deluxe edition are gonna be lit
Dude check out the new song Drag Me Out - Bullets In My Teeth, that's the band from former Asking Alexandria vocalist Denis Stoff, it's an epic song 🤘🔥
i didnt even liked ERRA on their firsts albums to be honest, but they growth so fucking much in me since the last album they are fucking amazing!! great song
@@jayveediezmo9870 really? I like that one. The only one I dislike is moments of clarity. And Neon, but not because I didn't like the songs on it. I just can't stand only hearing that cymbal in one ear
@@jayveediezmo9870 I agree there! I think Augment is the best metalcore album for me. I don't think drift hit that high, and neither did the self titled, but I still like them
Alan’s project, the Artificials, put out a new song not too long ago. It’s a lot more like old Erra and I think you’d enjoy it more, because I do too. This band hasn’t really moved me since Drift, even though they’re not bad obviously.
