This episode of Lightning GIS will demonstrate two error reduction techniques in Agisoft Metashape. After aligning your photos in Agisoft Metashape you will have a “sparse point cloud” consisting of the tie points that Metashape identified between different photos. Using the structure-from-motion photogrammetry method, Metashape has estimated the three-dimensional coordinates of each tie point in the sparse cloud. However, the SfM photogrammetry algorithm yields a lot of noisy or erroneous tie points that will decrease the quality of your final three-dimensional model. This video will show you how to use the gradual selection tool in Metashape to filter out the noisy and erroneous tie points prior to generating your dense point cloud.

How did you come up with those numbers of level thersholds of each of the gradual selection methods? Is there some kind of documentation on this? I wasn't able to find it anywhere else. Thanks for this very useful video!

Set tie point accuracy to .1. Why? What does that do?

Is there a way to automate some of this with the Batch feature in Metashape?

Why should not past the 20%, of deleted points?
@sierraecho884

Because you may break up the whole process by deleting too many points. Agisoft uses those points to the later on build a dense cloud if you delete too many agisoft might not be able to create a dense cloud
