ERS 210 DHS, PAS, TAS Repair - Part 1 - Servo Removal

I've taken apart a few of these motors and here are my tips: - Dull an X-acto blade to create a precision pry for the three black plastic cap tabs at the top of each motor. - To remove solder from the flex connectors, I use my Hakko 301 handheld solder pump. The kapton flex material is very delicate. - To remove the white potentiometer wiper assembly from the shaft without damaging the thin metal fingers, I modified a GWS pinion gear puller to fit and provide clearance. - To remove the black plastic cap (underneath the potentiometer) that might be superglued in, the chuck mentioned in this video is a great tip. I used a spare M2 chuck from a mini-lathe. But the real tip here is to add a bit of heat from a heat gun around the motor to break up and weaken the cyanoacrylate glue bond before pulling. Also, pull inside a clear plastic bag or else you might lose a flying tiny white gear when the bond suddenly breaks loose. - Note that the pan motor and the pitch motor have different gears next to the motor pinions. Different torque\speeds for each of those motors.

Hi there! My name is Ilya i'm happy owner 210 and 7 aibos. Some of them need to repair unfortunately. MANY THANKS for yours perfect aibo repair guides. Could you give me several advice please. 1 Can I use pure 96% ethyl alcohol for clean the potentiometers? 2 what kind of grease you use for plastic gears in legs and how do you clean them before lubricate. 3 one ers7 abo the aibo can't nod , how can I fix the slipping clutch in the head tilt motor located in upper the neck. Thank you for this video. I am new to aibo and got 2 aibo 210(1 supercore) and want to give them the best life. The supercore may need repairs cause he is considered “junk” by the seller. I hope to become good at repairs like you and others I’ve seen 🥲
