"Strange Fruit" is always most impactful. Similar to "weird", "crazy", "bizarre" and more... "Strange" was a term created by subpar humans who were insecure about Self. Basic sociopsych teaches that "weird"="I don't get it"; "crazy"="I don't understand", etc. Many (it seems most) humans don't truly know their selves, nor do they really understand Life, and most humans are average. Average="Normal". Anything above them or basic existence is above their heads. (Same way that those above can neither fully understand, relate to, nor hardly tolerate those below. The more distance/differentiation, the more difficult.) Anyhow for such humans-- any thing, life form, or place that is >average=foreign, thus feared/intimidating. Abnormal is GOOD. EXTRAORDINARY is GREAT. Normal, ordinary, average is generally boring and to many, pathetic. Those of us who are otherwise bear great responsibility, burden, and are oft misunderstood. We are also richly "blessed".

I love her brand of strange and her ability to be her true self, regardless of what others might think.
