I love that when she clapsback she dm people to see if they alright. "I don't want to kill you, but just embarrass you in front of the class." Love it!
Erykah B always commands the space she is in. She regulates the conversation and her presence demands Respect. I admire that. She's so Herself. Love her
I agree with learning how to say no. Once I was able to do that without feeling the need to explain, I felt I ascended to a higher level. Life is too short to carry around unnecessary guilt.
Lol smh you must be a teenager or either in your 20s *shes the 1st lady of NEO Soul... her interviews was short waaaay back in the 90"s.... She never did do much talking*
She probably wont. From what Ive read She'd prefer to be in the country side where noone treats her like a celebrity at all. Shes a quiet millionaire lol I would absolutely love that, but shes not big on interviews.
strongforu yup she could feel an energy in the room. That’s why I get made at Charlamagne because he bullies people in there that he knows doesn’t have a strong personality but he won’t dare talk shit go people like Badu.
People dont realize erykah so down to earth and normal they keep tryna make her so spiritual its just her nature is distinct but she really basic...I LOVE HER
I can definitely say, she's not basic. But, she's mos def a soothing soul....one of those cousins that comes around, during family gatherings, that you love to see walk in. She changes the entire dynamic of the room....like her love is real, but selective. She'll teach you everything from aligning your chakras, to chinese arithmetic. That cool cousin/big sis/favorite aunt, that'll call you out on your shit, if you're out here wildin' and then spark one up, to keep it kosher. She is the epitome of cool. Words can't really express her true vibe, it's just edifying.
ya city nothing like New orleans No she is not. She got 3 kids with 3 different cats. How is she different then most women out here other than status and money?
Bald Head Jamaican Boosie, Wayne Tip and more have plenty more children and baby mothers yet y’all are constantly coming for her as if that makes her less of a woman. All of her kids are at least 5 years apart. How many “hoes” can say that? Y’all be so mad when women don’t fit in y’all boxes.
"What motivates Erykah Badu?" "Watching people succeed." What a non selfish/righteous person. I enjoy people succeeding as well in all different aspects of life.
Please do not make negative comments about Ms Badu it's always great to hear from her. I know she's mad quirky and that might not be all y'all's cup of tea image wise but historically she's one of the great musical artists of recent decades and I can't think of too many singers soul or otherwise who been as consistent in the quality of their output. She has demonstrated genuine genius and her first 4 albums are all different but all classics! Despite being one of the founding architects of the Neo-Soul sound and style she has an approach that is completely her own and impossible to imitate successfully. That's an achievement in a genre that has such a set style and sound as Neo-Soul. She carved out her in voice in the galaxy of musical greatness and will go down in history and deserves more respect!
I agree! To minimize her by commenting on the value of her female organs is rude and disrespectful...on the other your comment brought respect back to our Queen...thank you!
I GROW from every single one of her Breakfast club interviews...How she checks on the people she clap backs at says a lot about her. AND that message about how she reacts to anxiety changed me for the better.
Badu is a perfect example of how women should react towards other women an men , such a positive additude her spirit is beautiful. However she seems like the type of person that will give you great advice a crystal an exspect you to apply yourself an keep it moving. She awesome
Every one is saying she is not a queen because of her relationship status and her children. A marriage does not define who you are and that's why the divorce rate is high. She is a queen because she embraces life, her power, and she is elegant in every sense. It's admirable that Ms.Badu's outlook on life is freedom of anyone
Love this queen and how she carries herself.people criticize for the children with different men but in public I can't say she's not a good role model. If I had a daughter she's one of the people I would want my daughter to look up to as to being a woman of great character.
Erykah's healing energy always puts a smile on my face. A true reflection of happiness, wholeness, sovereignty, and peace. One of my many mothers. Ase'
Ms. Badu! This woman needs to be appreciated MORE. She's an artist the same way Prince was, firm stances on her music and her persona, and articulate and elegant with her opinions. I love Eryka Badu, I'd love to share a window seat with her.
Why am I crying while I watch this interview??? Wtf! Her energy is so pure, real and relax and it's hard to find that within humans now and days. Love it! Joy
Are you retarded? Have you seen Andrea 3000 lately depressed no confidence doesn't want to live that was right after her? common hasn't been the same since he met her smh gtfoh
@@librateen632 Are you referring to her moon sign ? Because she is a Pisces born on February 26th. I am on the 4th of March and my moon sign reflects Gemini !
This is the flyest, dopest, baddest chic on the planet bro...I just love her uniqueness and how unapologetically deep she is. Dallas Texas represent baby..
Core Drummond lol im 21 so shows how much u dont know what your talking about......never ever has kids been rapping in dresses ...wearing skirts n handbags ...taking xans overdosing ...fighting depression n sadness ...killing each other rapidly ...i lost my best friend to this shit ...so dont tell me shit u aint fighting these wars ..dont talk what u dont know.
Im actually very proud of DJ Envy in this interview. He actually asked good questions, and he shined... Guess he really prepared for this one : ) Ms. Wright, as always .....gave her light and love, and Im happy for it. I get people have different opinions on her...but literally the last 14 years Ive been able to groove, cry to, smile to, cook, and clean to music by a woman that made me feel ok about being a quirky, weird, fly southern black woman. Her music has been there for me through so many times. : ) Thank you Erykah!
This might sound strange but: I️ would love to see erykah and jhene aiko work together. I’m a BIG fan of everything Badu does since way back. now, My girl has never been receptive to the neo soul, soul, funk, rnb, etc. vibes.. and I’ve been trying to put her on em hard but she’s 7 years younger so she’s very the ‘new’ generation. Which I️ understand. And I’m not really too much into jhene but my girl put me on to her new album Trip and I’m thinking: this is the introspective soul searching shit I’ve been trying to put you on girl!! I’m seeing a lot of similarities in the two artists now, just different sounds.
I've always admired Ms. Badu since I was a young girl. I was one of those admires who was disappointed when she did the D*ck challenge because sometimes we as humans tend to place certain expectations on others and expect perfection. In doing so, we fail to understand our own imperfections and start getting caught up in judgement and labels. I "get" what she said in this interview. All of us have many different versions of ourselves and we can't get caught up in what others expect us to be. Live in our truths at any moment. Much overstanding💕
Mama Badu coming with the word. I wondered why Yee wasn't there, can't help but wonder if she would've asked harder questions. CTG seems like he really admires her. Envy need to actually listen to what she is saying about depression and loving yourself more. You can tell he has a lot of self hate built up
Erykah is so beautiful. Her energy is impactful. If you are willing to understand, have the eyes to see, and ears to here, you will evolve in her presence. I saw her in concert in Charlotte with my mom and we did evolve when seeing her. Much love to you all.
Luthor Bratt I was watching this on the laptop and my 2 year old cousin saw her and started screaming and would not come back in the room Until it was over.
I could hear Ms. Badu talk all day, her mind is a wonderland and every time she speaks its like you’re taken on a joy ride inside her world. Always a delight, her story about Star Wars, Qui-Jon vs Darth Maul was on point, that’s exactly what I received out of that fight.
