John Carpenter's Escape from New York is one of my personal favorite movies of all time. The film has an amazing atmosphere and crazy world that is fully aware of how goofy it is but takes itself 100% seriously. The score is legendary and even though it's far from perfect it's a movie I can watch anytime no matter what.
