Escape from SA Prison! Uncover Thabo Bester & Dr Nandipha | Miles Bhudu
Prisoner Rights activist and ex-convict, Golden Miles Bhudu says they informed prison stakeholders including the minister of Justice and Correctional Services, Ronald Lamola and other authorities about the Thabo Bester escape but they ignored us.
Bhudu says this escape is an embarrassment for South Africa and since his capture and arrest, local authorities will make sure they make Bester pay for this failure of the system. Bester has already raised concerns about his safety at Kgosi Mampuru Maximum Prison, suspecting that his food could be poisoned.
The convicted rapist and murderer, Thabo Bester was re-arrested in Tanzania with his alleged accomplice and partner, Dr Nandipha Magudumana on their way to Kenya. The two have been on the run since an expose by a publication Ground Up, telling how Bester faked his death and escaped a G4S privately owned Mangaung Prison in March 2022?*
Bhudu says he also reached out to the two captured fugitives, advising them to hand themselves over to law enforcement authorities and negotiate for a plea bargain but his advice fell on deaf ears.
