When i found dnd i was just settling into a crippling meth addiction. I listened to jesse through 9 years of chronic addiction. I cycled through substances as fast as i cycled through favorite songs. When i found escape from the zoo i was comfortably addicted to cocaine. The substances i ised lead me down a path of self destruction that was too gruesome to describe here. Very recently i experienced a trauma that i think will finally scare me straight, and this song along with the absolute fucking inspiration that is jesses recovery are what im taking as motivation to finally get better. This saturday im having my last beer with the people i love, and after that im going to change my ways and do everything i can to help others avoid the fate i drove myself into. Jesse, if you see this, thank you so fucking much for carrying me through the hardest time of my life. Youre a saint
@Xander-gu4eu i moved across the country to get away from the life, but I still drink casually. Im by no means going on benders and spending every single cent i have on booze, but i still drink a beer or two after work and occasionally i go to the bar and have a good time. I feel like im better, but im sad to say sobriety is far from me. On the bright side ive stopped doing coke and smoking weed, so im at least a one trick pony now
@poopymcmonke Thanks for the reply. Booze is the least of your worries, considering what you said before. I was never that extreme, but my habits were causing problems. I had to move away as well. I ended up travelling and found an interest that I am studying a degree for now. Sat in my uni dorm room drinking a vodka right now. All the best. Keep it up.
First time I heard days/dazed I knew Jessie would sound killer over a fast track. His lyrics are always great and can somehow make me happy, sad, and angry, in a 3 minute song.
Well, since he's greatly inspired by Scott from Leftöver Crack that's an accurate assumption! In this track his inspiration also really comes through (:
@@Whazzar Only difference is Jesse's written music that is leaps and bounds better than anything leftover cracks ever produced they aren't very good let's be honest here.
This is exactly how NOFX should sound in 2022/2023 but unfortunately does not. Well at least this is Fat Wreck Chords and like a previous guy said here, this song is fantastic! Love it! ❤ 🌈 Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
y'all are my favorite band at the moment. Can't fucking stop listening to this record. Just turned 30 and every track just fuckin' hits so close to home. Keep killin' it homies.
Thank you so much for pushing through my addictions. I'm still on script, I'm still trying to sort out my mental health, but whatever happens I know you and your music are here and for that I'm eteranllt grateful
@@robertkosa9948 thank you. Its really not easy but I really appreciate your comment. I just put this out there because the music meant a lot to me, not to search for support from others. But the fact you took the time to say this is a huge thing to me
@@xmonkeyfishx I got too see them play last night and got to tell Jesse how much the music means to me. I hope you are doing well man and if you get the chance go see em they say don't meet your heroes but I did and they are fucking amazing humans.
@@DingDongDaddyFromDumas933 thank you man I really appreciate it! I'm so happy you go to see them, bet the gig was fucking awesome! I'm in the UK so haven't got the chance to see them but I know they'll be here soon with talent like this. I did once meet Jesse at a festival here when he was with days n daze and that was wicked. Hope you're doing well yourself mate, take it easy
You guys and your music quite literally saved my life. On a few occasions. I've been clean for almost 10 years, but the issue is my anxiety and severe depression.
Just saw these legends in sparks Nevada the other day. Didn't love them on the internet. Fell in love with them immediately live. Such a bad ass band. See them live if you like loud good times. Their to fucking worth it!
I know it's a running theme in the comments but y'all will never know how much your music has helped me throughout my life in the last few years and how much it means to me and how thankful I am and I just wish to express that here thank you so much for doing what you're doing it's absolutely beautiful
The realisation that the intro audio is part of Nathan's speech from Misfits has made me very happy. More UK tv iconic references from my favourite US bands, please!
i've always got this impression that this man could only write acoustic folk punk songs, but then you hear this, and i'm amazed how creative jesse really is. and that guitar lead in this song is sick. these two and the alternating vocals work so well. she has a great voice!
Y'ALL :') This makes my little heart feel so great and I may or may not have shed a tear at that ending. I'm really glad you both took the initiative to take care of yourselves. I'm already excited for whatever you come up with next.......i can't wait to fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiind out !
Hell yea dude! Great video for a great song. Thank you guys for sharing such amazing art with so many people for so many years. Its helped me in my life tremendously. Can't wait to see ya'll in Detroit this year!!
