Escape to the Japanese Countryside | Relaxing Ambient 4k

🎧 Whenever I've been stressed this year I've found myself revisiting this stunning location, nestled amongst the luscious rice fields of north Japan, with Mount Chokai - the tallest mountain in the region - looming in the clouds overhead. If you find yourself looking for an escape from a stressful day, launch this video on your nearest screen, turn the volume up and let the sound of the stream, the cicadas and the gentle breeze whisk you away to the Japanese countryside - just for a short while.
Hopefully, you'll be able to find the peace and relaxation you're looking for.

When I'm not making videos for Abroad in Japan, this is where I spend as much times as I can. I've never made an ambient video such as this before, so I haven't a clue if anyone will watch it. In many ways I made it for myself to stick it on in the background while I edit or if I'm having a bad day. But I hope to do a few more in the coming months and if there's a type of location you'd like me to feature, let me know! I'm open to ideas. For now though, enjoy the video. Hopefully, you'll be able to find the peace and relaxation you're looking for. ***Whenever I've been stressed this year I've found myself revisiting this stunning location, nestled amongst the luscious rice fields of north Japan, with Mount Chokai - the tallest mountain in the region - looming in the clouds overhead. I loved the breeze moving the leave. I was project manager for replacement of a natural channel irrigation ditch about this size with a concrete channel, the people living nearby complained that they wouldn’t be able to hear the water, so we imbedded large stones in the bottom to replicate the natural channel and keep the natural sound of water flowing over stones . Good job. 😻👍👍

I'll take your cloudy British skies (especially if there's rain) over sunshine. Will never understand the obsession with sunshine. It hurts the eyes and cooks the skin. Neither are pleasant. 😂 Don't get me wrong, the earth needs sunlight (and without the sun there would be no moonlight, which I love), but I will always choose rainy or snowy days over sunny and hot days.

I call shenanigans. Ok, Chris didn't actually say it was one long 30 minute clip, but I started out assuming it was. I sat here listening and watching what should have been a very relaxing video but kept thinking, something isn't right. In 30 minutes time the clouds never moved. Then I started becoming very unrelaxed and watching the rhythm of the water and the grass swaying, and it was the same over and over again. It seems like it is a two second clip repeating itself. It's spliced very well and now that I know, I can enjoy it and not feel like I'm experiencing a glitch in the matrix :)
@kiiturii
@kiiturii 3 года назад
its so well cut it's insane. You'd think that it would be really easy to see the point where it resets but nope edit: ahh I see, the grass goes a bit blurry right as it resets so you cant see a hard cut. Impressive
@_PM__
@_PM__ 3 года назад
@@kiiturii It really is impressive considering how short of a clip he used. I'm guessing it was about 2 seconds long. I think he centered on the flowing water as it is seamless. It just happened that after a couple seconds the water was perfect for repeating the clip. The water is also the place where most people would center their attention as it more active than the gentle sway of the grass and tree branches.
@bunnyfire58

I crave so much to be able to just go sit in places like this and just take in the world, so I’m glad you made this and thank you very much for sharing it with us. Would be by chance be willing to do more in the future? Videos like this get watched over and over again so even if it’s small portion of your audience that watch it it still should do decent numbers due to the repeated viewing. (May even draw in new people just for these) Also if you do choose to do them would you consider rain, thunderstorm, seaside and campfire videos? Those ones are amazing to relax too! ❤ Thank you 🙏

Fantastic video thanks for posting this. I love how much flowing water is in Japan's cities and towns, so many canals, rivers, etc...and the little tranquil, peaceful places like in this video that can be found scattered all over the place. Whether it's in Journey Across Japan or a 30 min video of flowing water in a canal going through rice fields, you really manage to capture what so many people love about Japan. With most of us not being able to get back there at moment, your channel has been a great source of entertainment, comfort and inspiration. Keep doing what you're doing mate.

Omg DEFINITELY do more of this. Seriously this helps me so much. I have always loved Japan's atmosphere and some aspects of the culture, and getting bits of that as well as moment to breathe is amazing. Also gotta love the cicadas!

Currently sitting in a windowless office, tapping away at the keyboard. Thanks for filming this, Chris, it's very refreshing.

I find myself coming back to this video often, I wish I wasn't so afraid of going out and seeing the sights. The fear of judgement and my own insecurities really do fog my mind, but I feel at ease when I hear the sounds of nature.
