Escaped cow rammed by police car 

Nah seriously STFU, cop did what he was supposed to do and that’s protecting the public from an out of control animal

Please enlighten me as to what you would have done in that situation. They had tried to contact vets in the area but to no avail, it was a loose cow that poses a risk to anyone on the street. They could shoot it, but the risk of firing a weapon on a residential street at a moving animal is very high. A tranquilliser requires training and no vets in the area were contactable. Or the officer could ram the cow to stop it harming anyone then deal with any injuries afterwards. If they hadn’t of acted and someone was injured or even killed then the backlash would be even greater. I understand the animal welfare problem but either way people would have been angry because the police is an easy target to place all ones anger on in tough times.

Its a calf. It does not pose a risk. Had everyone forgotten how to use herding methods and rope? Ramming it was 100% unnecessary and lazy.

? It's reported the police were responding to reports of the animal attacking. There was reported injuries. The animal had already done harm .

Why? They had multiple calls saying a cow was loose in a built up area. They had confirmed reports people had been injured. They had attempted to control the cow but failed as they had no training for such things and the animal was spooked and just kept acting erratically anyhow. Attempts were made to contact local vets and the owner. They were unable to get hold of the owner and no vet they tried capable of dealing with such a situation was available at the time. The police saw the animal chasing down yet another member of the public so due to there duty of care to the public the office used their vehicle to protect the member of public. What part exactly were they supposed to do differently?

Its a cow not a lion. This officer used violence to wound this animal and saved no one and no property.

Police are not farmers, it isn't their job to milk the thing. Their job is to protect the public. And since the cow looked like it was about to attack someone I'd say their actions were justified. Unfortunate but necessary. If anything the blame lies with the owner for letting it escape.

They tried for multiple hours to get a vet but couldn't. They also couldn't identify the owner of the calf at the time. It sucks but the officer probably did the right thing

@@edojaalexanderthe owner said they didn’t try to contact them or anyone else! I don’t know which is right but the owner feels they didn’t behave appropriately and that if they had of got hold of a farmer or vet to help they could have caught her without causing her injury

When an animal is rampaging, you shoot it, you do not ram it which obviously won't kill it, only making it panic which makes it become irrational and therefore dangerous. Neighbours to farmers are very good at letting them know when an animal has escaped, and plenty of farmers would lend a hand to capture a rogue animal - Even if it was not their own, because they understand that injury or death of an animal is financially terrible. All they had to do was block the road off and go to the shop and buy some oats and shake it in a bucket or place some on the road. It was scared so getting it to eat and drink would do a lot to calm it down. Basic common sense would be to give the animal space, and block off the road.

No animal should suffer unnecessary cruelty - nor should they be considered sacred.

They just injected you all with shaitee , especially in india and everybody pretending nothing happened and now f beef steak becomes a horrible act .

Similar in the States, we have animal rescue help out or if there's a local farmer or rancher help recover the cow. I hope the police department is ready to reimburse that poor farmer for injuring its cow

We in Britain have animal experts all over the country and plenty in Surrey, but this brain dead policeman utilised none of them and just went straight to violence, total ignorant tool.

It is not at all big. It is tiny compared to the parked silver vehicle on the right. It was not rampaging. It was trotting around. The people watching are laughing and the man on the street was jogging away because he knew it was best to stay away but he didn't feel theatened or he would be jumping onto a car to escape, he also shouts at the officer for ramming it. If the public weren't running, screaming and shouting - Why did that officer think it was a measured response to try and crush it to death?
