Thanks James you have nice RU-vid channel I subscribed today. I am so sad because Escapement Time Type-B Flieger H0292 not more available, wondering when come again perhaps, any news about that topic please ? I need 40mm flieger mechanical not quarz
Thanks for the great review, James. What size is your wrist btw? The 40mm looks perfect on you, my wrist is small at 6.25". You helped me pull the trigger on this watch, I very nearly bought a preowned 42mm Laco for twice as much earlier this evening but I like the aesthetics of this better from what I can see. Hopefully this lovely watch won't look too goofy on my chicken wrist!
My wrist are a tiny bit bigger at 6.75 inches. I have to say. This watch is amazing. Much better that the price suggests. The look, features, fit, finish and what I call wow factor. At 40mm I think it will fit you. Will not be small on wrist but should 🤞 be ok. I really like to Laco. But just seem to find other pilots that draw my attention more. Thanks so much for WATCHing.
@@WATCHingJames Thanks for the reply and info, James! I re-measured my wrist and I gave myself too much credit at 6.5", I'm 6.25". haha. Even if it sits big I don't care, this Escapement Time Type - B looks to have all the aesthetics and features I had been jonesing for. The Laco I almost bought had the nice "Made in Germany" stamp at the bottom, but would have been big for me, cost twice as much, and I didn't fancy the yellow-green coloration of the numbers and indices. Everything about this one hits my sweet spot, I can't wait to receive mine. Thanks again!!
This looks class, I like the type B style for some reason and those pops of blue are great as well. You certainly can't go too far wrong with these watches.
Great review, good to see such enthusiasm 👍. The only negative to my mind is that it is from an AliExpress shop, and I always wonder how much their warranties are really worth, it doesn't stop me buying from there, but only cheap watches, just in case the worst happens.
I'm with you James, this is a very nice, impressive watch. I received mine last week and am very pleased with the quality, appearance and performance (on the Timegrapher). The only additional comment I have, at this early stage, and I'm a little surprised that neither you or other reviewers (that I'm aware of) have commented on the case back's waterPROOF claim I don't think I've seen a watch with 'waterproof', rather than 'water resistant', since the 1960s. Maybe there just wasn't enough space for the longer wording!
I think with any watch from AliExpress, even the particularly good ones like this, we just assume that the water resistance is low. Thanks for WATCHing
I've had 2 non deliveries from them to the tune of $400+. Never again. The platform, and logistics company were unhelpful too. Everybody got paid, nothing arrived, the dispute process circuitous and disjointed, and closes without resolution.
OK so you have a few PT5000 watches. Just ordered my first one. Would love to hear your thoughts between each of them (not counting your Sellita or ETA)
Thanks for the info, just pulled the trigger on the last PT5000 type-b on Aliexpress over the San Martin 39mm nh35 on a bracelet for the same (Black Friday) price. I really wanted a type b after being beaten on an eBay auction on a San Martin so I ordered a Steeldive SD1940 to scratch that itch before I really did much research on what was available at that price range and seeing the deals on AliExpress for Black Friday. The 40mm case, great hands, crystal and lume and that silky smooth sweep of the second hand are all things the others couldn’t offer so I will be returning the 39mm Steeldive as soon as it arrives or giving it as a Christmas gift now. Great review!
Hello James I’m very new to watch collecting having a damaged Tag Heuer 23 year old Kirium I watched so many videos and have fallen in love with watches. But my grail is to spend as little as possible to get the most from a watch I like. Pilot wasn’t my first type I actually got an invicta pro dive and love it but your video convinced me to buy from Aliexpress. Can’t wait to see it. Thanks
Hi Jon. It can be a confusing hobby to dive into and I really try to get the best watches for the lowest money as well. Sounds like you are doing the right thing. Taking your time and researching what to buy. This Escapement Time is an amazing watch and you just can’t beat it at this price.
Very nice watch James, I have a Type A but don't have a Type B. Will definitely look at this one, it looks great. 42mm is bit better for my wrist so I'd save money with the NH38 one too! That lume is great.
It is a stunning watch. One of the best I’ve bought from AliExpress and one that I wear regularly. If you have slightly larger wrist then definitely go the NH35 option.
First time watching this channel. Love this watch, I have the older NH35 version and it's one of my favorites. I believe that there is one more difference between the PT5000 and the NH38 - the NH38 version has a flat sapphire crystal.
Thanks for WATCHing. That’s great to know. I was not aware of that. This is one of my absolute favourites in my collection and I wear it a lot. Such a great watch and so well priced.
That’s fantastic. It really is one of my favourite watches on AliExpress and just one of my favourite watches. It also made me realise how much I love pilot watches. Not something I expected.
You can't beat a good old type-B flieger, can you? I don't own this watch but I do own an Orient automatic flieger-style, and it's definitely one of my favourite watches.
I've had mine for over a month now and still loving everything about it. I still have concerns though but nothing that would stop me from buying more from the vendor. My main concern was the rotor noise but from what I can tell it isn't a bad bearing or anything to worry about, they're all like that. The other was a small QC issue where both halves of the strap were different shades. Not a deal breaker, vendor is happy to ship another once things settle down.
I think the noise is normal for this movement especially with a see through case back. It’s a little bit of a shame it does not come with and interesting solid case back. That would also help with the noise. However I still love it and it’s one of my favourite purchases of the year.
James, I realize I am late to the game regarding this review, however, it's only of late that l've become interested in a Flieger, especially the Type-B. Fantastic job, as always, but I wondered whether you knew if this watch could be purchased with a black, rather than brown, strap ? I realize this is a question best suited for the store but I thought I'd toss it out there nonetheless. Cheers.
Hello Donald, I felt like I was a bit late to owning pilots watches hahahaha. This ET is amazing. Definitely one of the best ever affordable watches I’ve experienced. I think they only offer it with this brown strap.
