I would say that's a biased opinion - if it wasn't for me fully sharing it. I bought two ET's so far, a flieger and the longines homage, and both are terrific watches!
Great looking watch. I know the mismatched sundial hands bothered you but often companies group the chronograph complications by colour, which I find helpful personally. I'm thinking of picking one up but I wish they'd used a movement with a running seconds hand instead of 24hrs.
Thanks for the detailed review! The watch is very pretty, maybe a little plain coloringwise. But being a Furlan Marri Hommage, hopefully there are going to be more interesting color combinations in the future. What really bothers me though is the misalignment of the indices at 25 and 55 as well as the four indices touching the subdials not being cut off in right angle according to the subdial border. You might not see that from a distance but I like to look at my watches very closely and this would always bug me.
@@13eastmode I get your point. I was using the word "hommage" very loosely. The correct way to put it would be that it's not an hommage at all. It's a copy of an hommage since Escapement Time clearly didn't look at the Patek and went on from there like FM did. Of course, this doesn't touch the actual point I was making.
@@13eastmode Furlan Marri is like some kind of social experiment geared toward tricking watch influencers into hyping an aliexpress homage watch with good branding/marketing. I wouldn't be surprised if FM and ET watches were made in the same factory.
A few weeks before Escapement Time, Hruodland was the first to release this design. And I was ready to order it and now I am very glad that I waited a little and ordered ET. Because in details of design ET much better than Hruodland. Also ET has reverse panda dial option. Thanks for your review!
@@EscapeWheel I maybe wrong but Mysterious Code has models with similar design but not exactly the same as ET which in turn is exact copy of Furlan Marri
I got the Hruodland version in the rose gold and am glad I went with that one. I prefer the text to the Escapement Time, and also prefer the Bregeut numerals.
Cracking little watch! Can't decide whether this white or thf black model is nicer. I believe the watch this pays homage to also only has one blued subdial hand. I rarely have seen a nicer piece of crystal on watch this price.
Nice release but a bit too much on the vintage side. Have you noticed the modern looking Red Star Chronograph with the vertical slat-like pattern on the dial with the st1901 movement?
Hello and thanks for the great review. I wonder what king of color are the subdials and are the shiny and contrasting a lot in relation to the main dial? And if you have seen the reverse panda in real life - what is the situation with the color of the sub dials there. Thans in advance!
Sorry for not mentioning it in the review. The video is very true to life, though. Glossy white dial, but the subdials are very light silver in color with a slight sunburst due to the concentric rings. It looks really good IRL. I haven't seen the black dial sadly
I don't know how he did it, I contacted him and he told me that this particular model does not have AR. On my way to receive it, I will test it with some watches that I do have with AR.
Very nice looking watch and great value to boot. Your review has definitely peaked my interest on this, as if I need another watch. However, I don't have a watch that is strictly a dress watch without looking sporty. This one fits the bill. Thanks for your review, very well done.
Nice copy of the Fulan Marri which is a copy of a Patek. I suppose what goes around comes around. If you want a blue one checkout Sugess who do a few colour dial options all with the Seagull ST 1910 movement.
Not unless you know of someone willing to loan one out. Benefit is, I'm hoping, better fit and finish, better box, warranty, QC, strap, and after sale service. Benefit to the ET is that it's probably 90% of the Furlan for I can't even tell you the multiplier less money. The Furlan is also sold out so there's that as well
Finally a video on these!!!!! I saw them on watch dives about 2 months ago or so and they go by a different name “Mambaout.” Looks pretty much identical to the Breitling and man that pistachio green is so beautiful, I think they are 149 bucks on that site Anyway I can’t wait to watch this vid when I have time later
Mamba out is a sub brand of Heimdallr, thorn, and I believe Mysterious Code. This is a separate operation...but yeah, basically the same watches from what it looks like.
interesting ya, my only concern would be how do I change the battery myself with a back cover like that and what kind of tool is involved. In the two years I’ve had my Alpina quartz chronograph I had the battery changed by a jeweller every March, i’m going to attempt it myself because I bought the back cover removal tool, and also the battery is held on by a little clamp with a small screw so I bought the tools. it’s $20 cdn to have a battery changed now in most jewellery stores where I am.
@@RJtoon1 the "squishy ball" or stickey ball should work fine, ball of Ductape will also work. Even the normal 3 prong tools should work but I'd be more worried about scratching the caseback with the tool for this setup. But the sticky ball will do the trick, check eBay/Ali they are all over the place.
@@EscapeWheel ah ok cool. Also forgot to mention the accuracy of the Rhonda movement in my Alpina is about one second fast a month I’m pretty happy with that.
@@EscapeWheel Well, it's hard to know if you have any... erm... commercial interests, if you know what I mean. ;) I do own a 40mm VH31 "dress" watch from Escapement Time, and it is a beauty.
@@hb9145 well then you wouldn't get a straight answer from me anyways....lol. I point out the good and the bad with every watch ,no matter how I got it. I've built this channel on my reputation...I wouldn't throw it away for a couple bucks
I like the imperfections considering these are made by one guy in his garage lol I'd rather support someone like that than the big companies that are just churning out large productions.
Logo could be ET instead of current logo? I understand that will not be an issue for many, but for me, the logo style just cheapens the watch. I feel that way across the board with other watch brands as well - i.e., Christopher Ward. Just an aesthetic opinion.
Can someone explain how $125 or $160 is not an excellent price? When I heard Wes say it’s overpriced I thought it was a joke. Is it because this a cheap brand and cheap material?
I really didn't understand his valuation. I think this is excellent value, personally. Solid quartz movement, nice finishing, incredible crystal, OK strap....what's not to like?
The watch is kinda cute, but that dial is typical of a watch that has this type of movement. Now, and it's just a matter of personal taste, I don't think it looks good on such a big wrist. If it had 2 more mm, it would go straight into my wish list. Thanks for the review.
Great vid Steve, as always, thanks for that! I love Escapement Time, their watches are like affordable art 🎨. I want this piece of art! But I want it in 40 or 42mm!!! 😭
Самое плохое, что метки присоеденены к циферблату так, что он гнётся, это видно если посмотреть при падающем свете. Всё сделано прекрасно, но мятый циферблат портит всё
