As a Christian, you’re gonna have good days and bad days. Highs and lows. God never said it would be easy. But He does promise that we won’t have to face a day without Him. Keep praising His name, whether you’re on the mountain or in the valley. He is good.
“If you’re bored, you’re not really looking”. That’s such a good statement because when I was bored with my Christian life I would try looking anywhere for the boredom to go away. Over the last day’s God’s been showing me that I need to keep it simple and just look to him
Tip for those bored with the Bible: Take a day where you have at least 1 hour free and go to a mice park or lake or a cool secret place and read there. It helps when youre not in the house distracted by other things and you can breathe in the freah air and sit in the midst of God's beatiful creations and relax ❤❤❤
I fasted from entertainment for 2 days over the weekend. I didn’t tell my family members what I was doing. But during the fast, I realized how loud it was in my house. Whether it’s from someone else TV or phone/tablet. I’d do it again too.
I really needed this. I was crying to God last night about how being a Christian and focusing on him is so hard and boring. I felt very guilty for feeling this way. I knew I had to change it I just didn't understand what to do at the time. Now I understand where I went wrong. I know that God loves me and is showing me a way. 😢 I’m bored in every sense, and every question you asked, I was guilty of, not going to church, not gathering with other saints. I try not to get bored by watching TikTok, and being busy with house chores but I feel so empty. During prayer yesterday with my mom, she sobbed, saying “ we only pray when we have to go somewhere” we used to be on fire for Jesus and now… it’s a parched and dry land day after day. Thank you for reminding me how to gaze upon God’s glory and power. Back in 2011 I made a song from the Psalm you quoted. The Lord is definitely speaking to my heart with this post. Stay blessed!

I feel bored with just staying in home and trying my best to be content with that. I think of my old life how I had a lot of friends and I would smoke and drink and I was thinking about how happy I was when doing that but then I realize how bound and sinful I was and I know I have more joy and love then ever and I can spread that love with others and it’s okay to not be having fun all the time that’s discipline. Thank the Lord for changing me!
Same for me, but I realized all the friends, drinking and smoking was escapism. I began to question would I feel the same joy if I didn’t drink or smoke. The answer was no!
After a breakup and not in school I’ve found myself with a lot of free time. I’ve been having trouble trying to fill the void with external things. I keep coming back to the only answer which is growing my relationship with god

Sometimes I feel restless or bored and turn to scrolling or shopping, but these things do not satisfy. I realize in these moments I should go to Him, His Word. He is the only true satisfaction. I’m also really struggling with reading the Old Testament at this time. I guess bored would be a good word…
The Psalms are awesome, I recommend those. Proverbs are too. Whenever I read Proverbs people I know or knew start coming to mind. Proverbs have good life lessons in them.
We all needed this, even those that are not bored. I find it difficult to focus as strongly as I know and feel I can, or even gain the understanding differently while listening here at times. I want to feel the enlightenment that I get when understanding falls upon me at all times when I’m studying (reading). And when I don’t it leaves me feeling as if I haven’t accomplished what our Lord and Savior would have me too. I know that is the work of the devil trying, as I try even harder.

God bless you! “Boredom is lifelessness” I go to church, I go to church small groups, and I’ve started helping with young adults at the church but I realized I was not satisfied. This month I’ve been lifeless. I’ve been bored. I have blamed everything around me but myself. You have opened my eyes, I realized that the reason I felt like this was because I was not getting into Gods word. I was not getting into my prayer time. I diverted my time to social media and tv which honestly made it worse. I strayed away from God. I feel like the church in Sardis. They did everything right and was known as a church that was Alive but He saw that they were Dead (Rev 3:1-6). God is speaking to me and many others through this video so let’s not go deaf, let’s start listening.

I get bored of reading the Bible, or just something being at Church and I rush the preacher in my head. I get something get bored of being the only one without a parter in high school it seems as if my few friends have one, but I think that’s God showing me to rely on him because something bigger is on its way. I’m a freshman in high school by the way🙂
Just today I had so much time for myself but I was so bored because I just didn’t know what to do with myself. I’ve been struggling with finding things to do during my days off from work. All I seem to be doing is running errands or spend time on the couch looking for a show on Netflix to keep me entertained or scroll through infinite Instagram posts or RU-vid videos. Then I was brought back to my past, particularly my childhood. A beautiful period where I was never bored with life. What happened to me? I think about my childhood as the time where I was closest to God even if back then I didn’t know who God was, I now know he was all over me, watching me and directing my steps and smiling at my adventurous nature. The reason I am saying this is because I believe as adults we often disregard the importance of connecting with our inner child, the part of us that’s closest to God because it’s pure, creative, loving, gentle and peaceful. I realised that I needed to re-embrace that part of me, as God created me to be. I needed to do the things I used to do as a young person without being afraid of being messy, of being spontaneous, of m imperfection, of not doing it right, and just do it. All this to enjoy the freedom that comes with being expressive and in tune with your heart. God has made us to be free creators, we’re sent on earth to fulfill a purpose. God doesn’t want us to be in a state of lethargy unless we are sleeping. During the day I now realise he wants us to be active and present, and finding ways to feed our mind, body and soul with activities that help us get closer and closer to live our purpose. I thank you God for waking me up from that dormant state I was in. May you help whoever reads this to walk towards the light they’ve forgotten was in them. May your presence be our strength 🙌🏾✨
Time with God will never feel like time in the world. It might be quiet, sometimes exhilarating but never as the world. Truth is, it's better. It's time with Love and peace and we don't have to pay a severe price after. Our minds will continue to renew. Stick with Him ❤😊
One of our pastors in our fellowship said that "as followers of Christ we shouldn't have constant boredom". We have plenty to do in terms of Outreaching, seeking God, and being consumed with our church and meeting its needs. We should be so consumed with Christ that we should become weary therefore having to rely on God to strengthens us once again. What he said convicted me because I find myself so bored sometimes knowing I could be telling people about Jesus or working on a bible study lesson or just even studying my bible.
I think personally i struggled with the bored aspect. But based on what I see of those around me I see some aspects where people have to rest. What you said was interesting cause you noted that God is the solution to needing strength. Which says that I’ve often noticed burnout in the church but I’ve not seen people point to the solution enough.
Im trying to seek the Most High more than ever, and im battling with alot of anxiety trying to bring me down all the time. Its hard but I know that Yah is with us.
We have to pay attention to who we befriend, what we're watching and listening to because it's all influencing us. The Bible says "The Spirit wars against the flesh, and the flesh wars against the Spirit; they are continuously antagonistic to each other. So you can't do what you want to do." And "Keep your minds set on things above not on the things of the earth." And "Abide in Me. Apart from Me you can do nothing." (John 15) We need to continuously pray and ask Jesus for help. We can't do it on our own. Hope this helps.
This video really helps. But I just don't know what's wrong with me. I go to bible study and I go to church. My father loves me and we talk about God and my spiritual life. I love Jesus more than anything and I have no social media and I read my bible and enjoy seeking God in many ways. But I feel this spiritual longing for heaven and to be with Christ and to just leave this dark and terrible world. I find solace in your videos so please continue to make more. You are helping people like me go one more day.

Thank you for this video!!! This is literally an answer of God to a prayer I did yesterday. I mean, He's so good, I'm so happy that He answered me through you. These days I've been bored in my Bible Reading, and I said to Him: "What's wrong, God? I've been here for a while and I don't feel satisfaction in my reading". And I realize that these days, I've been really stucked into social media while I just read 3 or 4 capters of God's Word daily. Then I said to me "Even If I don't feel satisfated, even If my flesh don't want me to consume real life and truth, I will stay here and read my Bible". But this video opened my eyes to so many things. Your videos and podcast has been helping me a lot these days and I wanted to leave a comment to support this Godly ministry. I'm in school so theres so much going on right now and its hard to take a moment to stop in such a fast paced environment, so i need tips to do it when i don't feel like it because this is the time where i need it the most.

I was just wondering if you had a sermon or video that you’ve made discussing how to deal with pressure and mental strain from yourself and others and how to run back to God and overcome it.
I… honestly think communion and community are my biggest stumbling block. I’m not a people person to begin with, and am struggling to publicly express my faith. LORD help me… And I do need to look upon God more than the things of this earth. It’s just hard to do though - even just acknowledging that they come from Him is something I have to actively remind myself to do. I live the rest of my life in a Christian way - always ready to serve and help others, even when I don’t want to (like when I’m in the middle of, say, a game). But I can’t shake the feeling I’m focusing more on the things I can enjoy here than on God and His pleasures… in part because they don’t feel as real. And that scares me. Please pray for me. (Weren’t churches after David tho? I know it’s a nit-pick, but it feels like a detail that drags the credibility of this video down. Given this video’s message though, I’m willing to bet that Satan is trying to make me doubt the rest of what’s being said. But I still feel like I should say *something* about this, if only so others can cotton onto Satan’s trick).
I thought I was the only one...going through the motions but not experiencing the satisfaction the way others say God tells us we should. It scares me too...but I stay seeking Him.
I get bored, too. It's like the gym for me. Somedays, I do not want to go to the gym, but I go. Because it is healthy for me. As soon as I get on that treadmill to run, I am happy with myself for going to the gym. The same is true with His word. Maybe change the time of day or the location. I'll go outside and read; whereas, other days, I am at a cafe and in public. But my heart is happy, and I am thankful that even in boredom, I was in His word. And a lot fo the time, I changed what passage I was reading in the Bible. That helps a ton! Other times, God is saying to change it up. Trust Him. There were times when Jesus had to step away from His community, but He prayed and was true to the Father. Trist His word and let it strengthen your heart like going to the gym. When something fills you up and makes you stornger, your mind doesn't get bored. Love you guys😊
For me, I'm trying not to treat this journey like a chore because chores are boring for lack of a better term (pun intended). This is a requirement to help me navigate, and I love the man I am becoming compared to the fool I am.
So this answered how to handle boredom in a spiritual life that lacks prayer, Bible reading, and going to church. But what about being bored with *those* things? How does one respond when we're already doing all three of those, but the boredom persists? Just do them more? I'm not sure how long, or what it takes, to get the brain to start craving Deity over dopamine again. A lot of us have spent years content on dopamine, not just trying to fill a void with it, but truly living for it like some sort of substitute religion. Some of us have lost the ability to care whether or not our Father is looking on us with approval. It's a tragedy.
When Im bored I play mobile legends, this morning I uninstalled it because im spending so much time playing. It’s hard but I’ll try to remove this to my life and watch this kind of videos instead. Today, I binge watch the exploration of Mt Sinai. It’s so marvelous 🥰
While at work I’ll entertain myself to the point of boredom. This could be anything from the visual subscriptions I have to mobile games. I often get convicted that these things do not satisfy and to go to the One who does satisfy and often fail even in that. I’ve went to the extreme of deleting everything off my phone (since at work that’s how I read the word in my environment) to not watching or doing anything in my phone until I read scripture. These things may be good habits but for me it’s a heart issue that needs to be fixed.
i really struggle with sin. i hate it so much that because its the same as giving a cold shoulder to Jesus. I know the reality with sin and the death that comes with it. im able to fight sin and endure it but i hate that i still give in im disapointed that i still give in. im a follower of Christ and i want to be a representation of who Christ is. its hard to do that when you still sin when you blatenly invite demons to torment you with fear and doubt. stress and grief. i can only have faith for a momment because i willingly disobey the father. im stuck in the loop where i ask god for strength to show me a word on what i need to know to get out of these situations and he does it time and time again and i still sin. with lust, adultry. please God send people to pray for me, for strength and wisdom to put the full amor of God on for these constant attacks against my well being, please bring someone that prays according to your will. In Jesus name amen Please pray for a renewing of my mind. Take walks and listen to the bible being read. Sit at a park or location of nature and read with your eyes while listening to it at the same time. Switch it up.
haven’t worked in a few months. things haven’t been working out been in a pit trying to come out of it and honor God but a part of me feels like i’m missing something He wants me to do. Definitely need to be more in community (my church)
i was unemployed for a little too. like august 2023-november 2023. i prayed and tried to keep faith and God directed me to a podcast where another woman was in the same situation and said to keep faith because rejection is Gods redirection and she was right. God wants the best for you and is with you through the hard seasons.
The excessive stimuli of contemporary living and the endless array of distractions available can easily lead to feelings of boredom for anyone. The Bible instructs us to transform and renew our minds. Mayeb shake things up a bit. Theres more to the christian life than just Solitary bible study.

Im bored with the Bible. I don’t want to, in fact, I really want to just adore and see God through His word but I dont seem to. I read His word and feel like im moving on the surface of the water when there’s something deeper that I can plunge into. I don’t know if I can even dive in myself or if someone has to bring it forth to me so that I may see it. I believe that it is God who will reveal to me deeper meanings in the Bible so that I see Him everywhere but I’ve not felt like I’ve experienced that in a long time. I’ve lost the strength to read the Bible because I’m too afraid that I will read it expecting to learn something great and revalating just to literally learn the basics - what anyone who reads can understand. I know there is something greater and a hidden way to connect to God through His word. All that I desire seems to come from knowing Him, and I can only learn about Him from His word and personal experiences but I can’t even seem to really grasp Him. I can’t seem to love Him like I want to, to desire Him like I want to, to obey Him like I want to. I read His word and forget the next day, if not the next fee hours - the same goes for praying. I want to remember and just dwell on it, dwell on what He teaches me and reveals to me. To see Him through His Word. I remember just finding so much joy and peace in the Bible to the point that when I left it I was unhappy and wanted to go back to it, mostly because I felt like it was a sin to pick something else over reading. Now, I realise that was unhealthy because I was bring down my mental health as well as my family, but, I can’t help but look back and see how I was so eager to read. Now, I look back and realise that I may have been feeling and hanging onto the Bible with my life because I missed the first time I felt the desire to change when reading. Now, I’ll read something that seems to challenge me or how I’m starting to become but I won’t really be affected by it - I’ll pray, but I hardly change afterwards to be honest. I don’t want that though, I want to change, I want to feel convicted so that my heart will be changed and drawn nearer to God, so that I don’t willingly disobey God when He’s shown me through His word what displeases Him. i’ve started to feel like the Bible isn’t speaking to me but others. Like if it doesn’t affect me but, if I’m honest, I really just don’t know if something is speaking to me so I’m weary on saying it is when, in the end, it wasn’t, therefore making my own assumptions from His word and trying to be my own leader in a way? Anyways, I’m still stuck in the rut. I want to read but I’m scared of being disappointed. I don’t want to be disappointed, I want to be okay even if I feel blank about what I’ve read but I can’t. I want to feel the sense of drawing near to Him, of Him drawing me near to Him. I don’t really know, this is the first time I’ve been able to put this into some words, and, this is just touching the roof of what seems to be a mansion; I just find it hard to unpick what the problem is. Anyways, I’m thankful for anyone who’s read this far, and has some insight or help on this, although I know it’s God who can only really help me.

Can you guys help me? I'm a believer. I'm only 15 years old, and I really want a new life with God. I called myself a Christian, but now I say I'm a Believer because I don't obey the orders of the Father and Jesus as I should. Nothing I do on a daily basis can fill this void I have. This wasn't always the case, because until 2 months ago I was happy watching mundane videos, with bad things. After I saw this news about Israel's war, it was as if my eyes were opened. I could have thought "It's just a war like the Russian and Ukrainian war" but it wasn't like that. I only felt like something was wrong when I refused to let that feeling in. I kept seeing comments from people saying that Jesus was coming back and I felt a doubt in my chest, something I hadn't felt before. I have anxiety about pleasing God, but I end up not actually trying to do so. It's like having a dream in life, a dream of having a certain profession, but the world, which is shaky, destroys that dream. I also have symptoms of social phobia. I don't know if a diagnosis is needed before I can say that I actually have social phobia, but I have all the possible symptoms. Just imagining leaving the house, interacting with people, I imagine people looking at me, talking about me. It's like being face to face with a spider, or a criminal, or a snake. I feel like I I could have a heart attack. I've already been to a therapist because I "refuse" to go to school, precisely because of this anxiety, but I didn't take the medication they gave me. The therapist told my mother that she would decide if I would continue with the actual terapist, or if I would go to a more experienced therapist. To this day we haven't had an answer, I think. My mother doesn't take the fact that I have anxiety very seriously, and when she asks why I'm like this, she looks at me and talks in an "aggressive" way. I can not explain. I just can't, I just can't, talk to her about it. My social phobia really disrupts my life, and it's bothering me a lot more now that I want to go to church. I'm afraid that people will call me forward, or that I'll speak in front of the other brothers. This, of course, can happen, since I don't walk around with a t-shirt that says "I'm afraid to interact". I also think that if I get asked to do some kind of charity at church I wouldn't be able to, and I would end up angering them and God because of it. I read the Bible daily. Sometimes I read for 2 hours, and most times I only read a few pages. This is because I have a lot of attention deficit, and I have anxiety about finishing reading. Just imagine eating yourself up inside, with fear, wanting to adore and please God, but there is this snake that suffocates you, and traps you. Like hell, this anxiety suffocates me. I am like a seed that falls, receives the word, but then the word is suffocated by the world. This is unbearable, and I don't know what else to do. Please, can someone answer me? Help me? What can I do?
