I watched your review then watched this. I'm sorry if the Eschers seem hard but when you keep opening doors for your enemies it's not hard to see why. You know you don't have to move forward all the time yeah? Pretty clear case of the craftsman blaming their tools.
After watching the multi-turn comedy of errors brawl ("2/10. Insufficient blood and slaughter to be satisfying." -- Khorne), I think we might be sticking with the old-style Necro melee combat in our group.
yeah there's very little strategy in warhammer, they're so many die rolls and hardly any way of affecting them. In regards to the rolling though, in a subsequent video they say that they think the starter is unbalanced, but I'm not sure they realised just how one-sided the die rolls were. lol
I do think there is strategy, but if the players have equal skill - it will come down to the dice more often than not. All the best batreps are when the dice are all very average and someone makes a better move.
You should play the scenarios with customised armies of the points values of all the box miniatures I think the scenario is unbalanced or you need to be an expert player to get the best from box setup they are showing off all the weapons and wargear but no real strategic coherency especial I'd dump the chem gun and bolter and throw in more krak grenades and power swords, I'm not that interested in Goliath but they could probably be better too I suppose that's what the campaign is for
As a long time miniwargaming supporter it should be known to you that it's reasons like no longer supporting 30k and the general drop in content quality that has forced me to stop my long time vault membership. I look forward to the day when you buy turn things around.
This is why I don't subscribe to the vault. There are too many walk-over battles, and it's just boring. 5-0 to one player in a campaign? Why would I pay to watch more? You guys need to do more play-testing, avoid scenarios that are one-sided (why keep having House Escher fight in narrow corridors where they can't do anything?) and only showcase the better battles. Otherwise you're going to create the view that you're just a bunch of guys trying stuff out, having a laugh, but please give us money for watching us enjoying ourselves. If that means you lose content because you're not using it, or you keep it in the vault under a special marker (e.g. "Walkover, watch X get his arse kicked"), so be it. In case you're wondering, I have tried the vault out, and I wasn't impressed by the stuff that was there - some of the reports show even worse walkovers. One other point, is it really the case that you don't roll the injury die if a poisoned weapon fails to take someone out on the 2-D6 roll? That sounds like an odd rule. Surely it would make more sense to see if the poison/toxin does something and then roll the injury die if it had no effect.
as a fan of escher, I'm a bit worried. They just... don't seem like they can stack up. They ae fragile and mostly short range. They can't out mass goliath (who themselves are bad), so I'm worried that when more shooting emphasized gangs show up, they'll just laughably blow escher away
You have got to be kidding?!? This is what my beloved Necromunda has become. Well time to get out the 1st edition books again, cause this edition sucks big time.
Seth Yarger they didn't you have to pay to see the content so they're only going to publicly post every other video that's their way of pushing their subscription vault
