Nooooooo you can’t put a mk6 dash in. Tidy the mk5 one up and flock it. I’ve had my mk1 project for 15 years now and it’s still a long way off being finished. Keep at the cossie and keep us updated on any progress no matter how slow.
You're right, this car is screaming out for a flocked dash crammed with gauges ! If you're building these cars properly they take a lot of time but hopefully will turn out well, good luck with the mk1 👍
Definitely air jack towers, plus the remains of Group A chassis mounted engine and rear beam mounts. Looking like it was a circuit racer at some point. The cage is a very odd design. My suspicion would be it was built abroad.
Cheers, Yeah it seems to be a mismatch of different spec builds. I'm sure it will all make sense if someone knows what it is, seems like less than Group A but more than Group N, part of the front of the cage has been removed so I'm wondering with those chassis-engine mounts whether it was a Group A and for some reason reverted to Group N and the Group A/WRC top mounts removed
Think with the airjacks it would be a track car. Have you checked the vin out to see who made the motorsport shell and it's life before rallying? Never seen vents in the inner arches never the bulkhead in the engine bay.
Not sure about the road cars but I've seen 909 and motorsport shells with the same vents pressed into the inner wings, I did think someone had just taken a can opener to them at first, I haven't done many checks on the VIN/registration number yet with regards to racing history, I think this car has had a few different lives
I have a pair of the WRC wings to go on, I know what I want at the end but just tackling things one at a time at the moment, its quite dependent upon how the DVLA respond because I want to retain the cars original plate and maybe get an FMC plate longer term.
