The V1 MAD wheels were brought to the market at a retail price at $119 instead of the $169 of the original Boosted 105. There is nothing wrong with Cloudwheel or Meepo coming out with their own versions of the original Boosted 105. In fact, it’s a testament to the performance of the original Boosted design. Now MAD has moved on to the V2. Ultimately all these new wheels make the sport safer and more enjoyable!

Oh, finally a trivia problem I can answer! RKP trucks were invented the 1970s by Randal! On the note of patents however, patents are designed to prevent large companies from crushing innovation in a space by using more established resources to copy designs and ideas from smaller competitors, thus crushing competitors out of the market and lowering the overall number of companies in the space until a monopoly is gained. They exist to foster and reward innovation. I would argue that 3links and the ShocBoard system are the only patent-worthy inventions in the space, and I worry that the current attitude regarding replication and iteration of very mundane ideas is exceedingly toxic. If anything, patents are being weaponized by larger companies in the space, which is entirely against the Ethos of patenting something to begin with.

*Another great ep guys.* ⚡🤙🏼🤙🏼⚡ ps, I like that Evolve offer a non-dkp board but I'd pick the Velar, big reason is street wheel compatibility, I love urethane 😂 I put those Otang prototypes on my IG story but I'm losin hope that it's anythin bigger than 85mm 😥 I would love to get 90-97 but feelin like it's gonna be smaller after talkin to a couple of people in the know hintin that it's not a "big wheel". I adore my blue cags, I would love to see 95mm blue otangs! 105s in oramge 80a just isnt as nice as blue 77a and the price difference between cags and dad bods is huge, with a lotta push board guys sayin it's not worth the extra cash. Don't like the graphics/logos on the new cloudwheels mad boosted 105 "clones" but it's cool that they have the the cloudwheel core rather than kegel core like everyone else, now more people will be able to use these, along with hub sleeves so it's great. Gear drives bein patented to the point where you cant have the same amount of gears without being sued is stupid 😱 That is Future Motion behaviour 😭 RKP FTW 👌🏼 I like 50 front and 43 to 45 in the back, even on a short wheelbase. Awesome design. I love silver/raw for esk8 trucks.

so the new loaded wheels aren’t necessarily for esk8. same for the dad bods. there both more for push racing. i agree, i think the 105 dad bods are too chunky n big and prefer that 95-97mm size. As for the velar and renegade, as much as i love both brands, i dont think mountain boards will ever be particularly successful and popular. just like Jacob said how it feels standing and riding on that style deck, just feels unnatural. most riders arent doing jumps on there eboards, let alone a 38-40lbs board. i also think channel trucks dont give u much agility as u need in the trails. its like its very restricted with its trucks, weight, and deck. just my two cents. great podcast guys!

Great episode guys! The RKPs are sick and I'd love to give them a spin at Esk8con! Got a couple of questions after watching the pod: -Do you plan on installing the RKPs on Endurance v1.4? -In regards to the discussion on battery degradation and BMS, any plans on adding a bluetooth-based BMS for Endurance? Or is the existing Endurance BMS more reliable than a bluetooth model? Also at 15:40 the wheel is sitting on a metric grid. Each square length-wise and width-wise should be 1 centimeter. The wheel is sitting almost dead center to one of the lines, so we can count one side of the squares (5-ish), which is 100mm of squares (97mm as predicted!)

Ive repaired a 12s5p battery from an ecomobl m24 pro. Had a cell group that got too low so replaced the cells with brand new cells and upgraded to a smart bms. Problem seems to be solved for now and pack has balanced out nicely. I feel there is definitely a lot more strain on the entire battery pack when you have a cell group that is low or completely dead. Replacing that entire p group seemed to save the battery for now. Relatively inexpensive repair, however I would recommend building an entire new pack if that’s an option. The smart bms makes me feel a lot safer about making repairs like this because I can closely monitor the exact voltage of each cell group from my phone while riding and charging.

I heard there's a somewhat limited amount of Evolve Renegade's Which means there's a chance they could do a version 2 with requested revisions.

Reverse king pin. Where it screws into the baseplate giving more clearance would be cool to have in the market.
