My mom died a year ago. My parents had been together, since teens. This songs so reminds me of my mom and dads life together - filled with love.. and the last weeks together, when she was terminal and all she wished for my dad. And how everything my dad does even now, is in love and in tribute of my mom. Beautiful song.
hi, my father has died in 2009 and my mother has been listening to this song ever since, it breaks my heart just to think about what goes through her mind as she hears these lyrics. i'm myself in a relationship right now, so the feeling is even harder as i get to experience how wonderful love is, especially when it has been going for years and both partners have got to known each other very well and shared everything, life in general. this song makes me feel like going through a recent heartbreak everytime i hear it, though i still do because of how good and nostalgic it is. by the way, sorry for your loss and i hope you are happy right now, that everything in your life is going alright. if not, it's going to be.

I can totally relate to everything you wrote.. :( as if the loss and lacking ones parent isn't heartbreak enough - to see the remaining parent grieving and in such deep despair and lacking their other half.. is truly devastating. My mom was so sick for 10 years, from cancer that spread everywhere. And by the end, also chemo sideeffects - like 10 percent heartfunction. she'd had bloodcloths and so, the part of me that loves my mom - is relieved she spared from more suffering, though I miss her horribly. The hard part, is to keep living life whilst seeing my dad is such pain, missing my mom and still not sleeping. Though thankfully he's truly trying to live up to my moms last wish, of him taking care of himself and living life to the fullest. He's begun making heartshaped floral arrangements for my mom's grave, and constantly trying to honor her with all the energy he has and live as she'd want him too. But it's truly heartbreaking, and is so hard to see the left behind enduring all that pain. I so relate and could have written everything you wrote. I am so very sorry for your loss. And am sending so much love and many thoughts to you and your Mom.
