I did not know this, I was going to use the shrines to respec a bit for my Dark Elf Stamina Templar DPS and I already did pay 3000 gold earlier this week to respec my CP now that I know what I’m supposed to do with them. I think you have passed me in CP now, I’m CP 257. Thanks for this tip!

The devs dick about with the new CP 2.0 system nearly every major update for balancing or to add new sub-constellations with extra perks. When they do, we get a week of free respecs at the shrines. It isn't really that expensive any other time, only 50 gold for every skill point you respec since the shrines allow you to respec on a per skill basis rather than resetting everything, if you only need to tweak the odd skill or morph it's useful. Once you've researched every gear trait you'll want to go to a shrine to reclaim all the invested "reduced research time" and "research more at once" skills per craft since they're no longer needed.
