Good overview. Solo us by far my favorite way to play. I still play a lot of content in group with guilds and pugs, but my favorite way to play is solo. I love the challenge of creating a solo build and they usually wind up as my favorite builds over time
At first I wanted to play solo. But when I was leveling and clearing the maps, I asked for help a few times, met some New friends, than tried a few dungeons (wich I was afraid to do because I had a fear of failure) and I now understand that cooping with People is great. Community itself is very friendly. So my main guy is now focused more on teamwork and I have another char for pure fun and solo play. That is a great way to play this game for me. If I want I dive into group content, if not just having fun solo
Combinations I've tried that worked the best: Magicka Sorcerer with pets, Magicka Templar, Stamina Templar, Stamina Sorcerer. Although magicka is generally easier, if you add Werewolf to stamina then stamina is often just as easy if not easier. Regardless of class, there are a lot of factors that you need for soloing but perhaps the most important are skills that heal you while you do damage. The healing might be part of a skill effect, or it might be a heal over time, or it might be added to your light and heavy attacks. For magicka, restoration staff can be a great back-bar option. Not only does it give you a good heal over time, if you run low on resources then a heavy attack gives you additional magicka back and heals you. For stamina, vigor (assault) and rally (2h) are great. Also, the dual wield skill line has two amazing heal/damage abilities, the first two skills. The spammable Bloodcraze can often make it so you cannot die, and largely closes the gap with the templars biting jabs. Personally, I prefer dual wield/2h to using bow. You just need really good stamina recovery for solo. A mistake I see a lot of people making for solo is that DPS is king. This may be true for RU-vidrs and streamers because people will make fun of them if they are too low DPS. But for the rest of us, you can often do better soloing with recovery and big resource pools rather than damage. Obviously, for many skills more damage means more healing, but you can sacrifice a fair amount of DPS for other factors. For example, I have had quite a lot of success using heavy armor builds for soloing, mostly stamina but even with magic. There are some heavy armor sets that actually boost damage or resources, and heavy armor reduces the damage you take and gives you both stamina and magicka back when you take damage. Due to damage shields, I don't think heavy armor gives a significant advantage over light armor for magicka builds, but for stamina I think heavy armor is often easier to solo with - depending on the sets of course. Last but not least, hybrid builds can solo amazingly well because they have massive sustain. This is because hybrid magicka/stamina sets often provide twice the usual bonus of specialized sets. For example, one bonus might be +magicka and +stamina recovery. Hybrids do less damage, but as I said above, damage is not the highest priority. The other advantage of hybrids is that many of the best sets are crafted.
i can solo dungeons and world bosses ' note : (some dungeons req at least 2 people because of some mechanics door opening ect , but theres alooot that can be soloed) that did take me a while to actually get use to rotations and feel more confortable managing my resources so for my experience i recommend templar and sorc are the best in my opinion to begin but i love magika nigtblade cuz is more fun for me ,feels so good to kill everything by yourself ahh
I'm going to say Sorcerer, because you can bring a healer. Clanfear, and Twilight Matriarch can play your Emergency healer, so it's not really like playing Solo at all. Also, Bolt Escape/Streak can get your fat out of the fire when you get mobbed. Like you said, any class can be set up with the Self Heals, and Sustain. Any class can DPS. Just based on that, I'd say yeah. Magicka Templar is best set up to Tank, Heal, and DPS. Sorcerer doesn't have to.
finally, someone that understands me...lololol...played multi several times, nothing compares to the friendships you find are amazing...but solo is a different kind of challenge
I came from doing group PvE content, and have been soloing with a MagCro for a good few months now. The nice thing is I literally just need to change out some of my skills and my monster set and can go back to doing group PvE content. If you're on the fence about soloing instead of making an entirely new character, take one of your magicka builds (if you have multiple toons you should have at least one) and change out some of the skills and put the Iceheart monster set on. Magicka optimally use False God's Devotion, Mother's Sorrow and Iceheart. Your damage and sustain will be incredible and your survivability will be good too, the stats for Iceheart don't really tell you how often it really procs.
Four mag-rando toons at 50/877(810 shown), and it wasn't hard. Any of them can take on any world boss, and most group dungeons on their own. The secret is area effect spells. Always area effect spells. Beyond that, being able to craft legendaries really makes all the difference if you don't want to buy all your gear from guild traders in big cities. Having a constant source of purple/gold food/drink doesn't hurt either, so provisioning is a skill worth having on at least one toon. All my armor on all toons pump health and health recovery and nothing else, otherwise most, or all points go into magicka to keep it up naturally. Jewelry pumps stamina for a couple of toons. You can balance out this stuff any way you want, and there's really no right way to do it.
Teach beginners how to form effective *groups.* Teach them not to "Fiery Grip" enemies out of DOTs. Teach them how to stack damage, and how to use synergies... Beginners need to learn effective group dynamics... because, you know, *MMO...*
i don't like online games and don't like MMOs in general, i don't like playing with other people but i'm a big fan of the Elder Scrolls and for the longest time i've been attracted by this game but i never bought it fearing it would be like other MMOs. Perhaps i'll give it a try.
Hey Adam, thanks for the great videos. You guys seem like a good group. How can I find out more about your guild such as member requirements and how to join? Thanks!
Great video Sir, but didn't you miss Iceheart as a great solo monster set? I use it and I love it, AoE damage + shield. Even that it got nerfed during update 25 it's still worth using imho. You can aquire it in direfrost keep.
Hey Adam, at the 21:00 minute mark you mention something about have to go to another character to get the sunspire set? (I think thats what I heard) . Can you elaborate on what you mean by that please? Thanks and love your channel.
So what I meant was, if you are using that character simply as solo, you can't solo sunspire so you would need to do it either on that character to get that set, or another one that you have built for multiplayer (if you only built your solo character for the purpose of solo) although you can still be solo and do multiplayer stuff. I was just mentioning that.
Damn I didnt know templar is very popular. I only picked it because it looked cool when choosing a class. I'm enjoying it anyway. Once I've maxed it out I'll run a different class. I've spent 2 days on it so far and I'm level 16. I've had a few games in pvp and its alot of fun. 1W 3L but I dont go in expecting to win since I'm only low and I wanted to know how I would approach it or test how my build goes against other players. You just wait till I get my character to that level and I'll be in there. My younger brother will start up tomorrow so I'll be playing with him. I feel overwhelmed which is why I'm just gonna try anything and take my time with it. After watching this vid I know I'm on the right track. I'm using sword and shield skill line and now I feel I'm at a really good set up for solo play. I dont really want to pay anything for it yet but the bag capacity is doing my head in lol. I know I have to buy more space and I'm so glad I dont have to use real money for it. I know I haven't even scratched the surface of the game yet but as I'm progressing, I'm discovering new ways to play and build which I love the most about it. I just adore the freedom you have and there is no set way to play or build your character. The way I see it so far is there is no boring class it's all in your play style which makes the game as a whole fun. There is no limit but I know I have to take breaks from it so I'll prob only spend a few hours on it a day from now on lol. Your a great help!
If you're not able to get ESO plus. Make alts to keep your items in their bags. For example. One alt to have all your things you want for blacksmithing, One for woodworking and jewelry, and one for consumable crafting. You can exchange things through the bank. But yeah, it will take a lot of extra time. Alternatively. Just sell everything while you are leveling and don't worry about crafting.
@@JMD3M410 yeah that's a great idea. I ended up getting ESO+ after 5 days of playing. I got so invested in playing that I needed to juggle my time and progression. Although I did say I wanted to take my time but my progression felt like I was going nowhere. Now, I'm in a UK based guild that are well established and very helpful when in need of a hand. I've progressed through Vvardenfell and completed most of the zone guides. I'm currently going through another zone and the stories are actually pretty good and well executed I must say. Well in my opinion anyway. I also ended up playing subnortica and recently got platinum. I'm playing these on ps4 if I forgot to mention. Subnortica was a really nice surprise since it flew under my radar. My younger brother bought it and told me I should download it as we game share with each other. After finishing that game I got hungry for something similar and I've started playing Ancestors. So I'm balancing my time with ESO and Ancestors by playing a few hours on ESO jump over to ancestors. Both very different and surprisingly an enjoyable use of my spare time. Games are fucking amazing these days.
I know this video is for beginners, but I'd like to suggest anything else but a pet for the sorc. You didn't mention pets require placement on both bars (or if you did, I missed it), and I also disagree it's a great addition to the role. Even for beginners, relying on the pet crutch takes away from using the remaining abilities they do have. Far too often, I see sorcs spam their pets to heal, while negating the crit damage heal Surge can return because they don't slot surge, or worse, don't use it when it is slotted probably because they don't understand it. Surge is *mandatory* for sorc builds, so it's good you included it. :) Pets should be used later, when they're no longer considered beginners. Just my opinion, but I'd exchange the pet for Unstable Wall, as getting an enemy off balance quickly for 2x resource return is far more beneficial and the wall helps with this. I didn't like a couple of your other choices for beginners, but part of the game is learning it, so they'll come to the same conclusion eventually. ;) Good video nonetheless, and thanks for taking the time to make it. :)
Hey! Is your guild still taking new members? I played ESO to endgame content like a year ago and I'm just getting back into it and looking for a new guild
I’ve been playing eso for the first time ever since June I would say..and put time in the game when I honestly can. (Work :/ ) but my question is, for dungeons, do u have to have a group with you? Bc it’s hard to try and solo them...and I’m champion lvl 160? (I’m still trying to learn everything for ESO)
You can also duo... But really soloing (vet)group dungeons is more "advanced" than "beginner"... I think Soloing World Bosses is the best way to start off soloing in the world of ESO.
Sorry noon question here, but are the guilds platform specific? I know this channel plays on PC but I have Xbox. Would I be able to join the necrodaddies guild? Anyone know how I could do that if it's possible? Thanks everyone!
From my experience, normal content do not require build that made for parties, I am playing dungeons with People with my solo templar and have no problem. In Veteran content, trials and maybe maelstorm I think it'll be better to have a party build if you want to play with People, but I am not exactly sure
What the hell is all that cheating bs I saw on the screen in combat?!! PC players have a cheat on when to block dodge cleanse and so forth?!! Wtf?! That’s bullshit 3:18
Here's the key to being successful in ANY MMO. Learn how to make friends and influence people... A party can take down a solo player any day, and if you're in a party, you have the strength of your strongest member, and all of your party's abilities... 30 extra skills and 6 extra Ultimates...
