Reviews always seem to completely skip the riffing aspect of guitars. They are always soloing 90% of the reviews. This is a James Hetfield signature, a rhythm guitar player. He's not going to be soloing so it would have been nice to actually hear some riffs being played other than just one in the entire review.
Will Buhrrr James has solos on Master Of Puppets, Nothing Else Matters, Outlaw Torn, Fixxer, and Now That We're Dead. Thats far less then 50%. He does though play lead and harmony parts with Kirk on For Whom The Bell Tolls, Creeping Death, Orion, One, Master Of Puppets, Shortest Straw, Day That Never Comes, Suicide and Redemption (I think) Atlas Rise, Moth Into Flame, and Spit Out The Bone. He does occasionally take little lead melody parts in songs but majority of the solos are Kirk. I'm just going by album recordings, and what I can name off the top of my head. If you want to check it out, listen with headphones on, James is mixed in the left ear, Kirks in the right.
heres the thing about gear reviews, we would love to hear what tom quayle actually thinks about the guitar, not just the spec. I know this is tricky because if Tom voices his dislike about aspects of the guitar maybe they dont get gear from that company anymore. but still surely you can voice honest commentary about these products whilst being dimplomatic and honest at the same time ?

Who died and made you the guitar god?? you are an idiot James Hetfield has a video where he talks about this EXACT guitar and the inlays are meant to be flags, it may look like the headstock but the headstock is slightly different. If you don't have anything good to say about the video you looked up find a different video! we don't need a bunch of BS put on here by 5 year old kids that think they know every possible thing about guitars. *End of rant*

Daniel Fantini You're right about them to look like the headstock, but ESP also call them Flag inlays :) Even the trussrod cover on the Eclipse is shaped like the headstock. I can't see where the inlay is slightly different as Tyler the huge douche assumes, other than the bottom of the inlay...
This guy doesn't know shit about guitars. The Iron cross is modeled to look like his Les Paul. Les Pauls have the upper toggle function but Jamez removes one of the tone knobs and replaces it with a toggle for easy access. The upper toggle is fully functional it just has to be wired.
Actually, I have gone and tried it out, I'm not sure if it's true but the both seem to control it but at the same one, the top one felt like it was making it softer and a more creamy tone but moving the bottom one it sound like the tone was getting more chunky and sounded like the gain was being turned up, but than again I could be wrong haha
It costs another 3 grand my friend just to have esp at the top.... Lol doesnt make any sense both models sound and feel the same. Im satisfied with my ltd version.
+Mike Hunt likewise, I've played both and I just can't bring myself to pay a couple of grand more for (literally) just a headstock logo. my personal favorite was my 2008 EC Redburn. hands down best guitar I have ever played.
It's recessed on this inside so that it can be wired. It's essentially setup so that you can choose which 'switch' you want to use based on what's comfortable for you.

Yes the Iron Cross was used in the Nazi party, but NO it's no exclusive to it and does not represent the Nazi Party. It's a symbol they used, not THEIR symbol.
Other guitar player? Honestly James is metallica, I don't like metallica, but kirk hammett sucks compared to James. And Kirk is the "other" guitar player in metallica.
In a review of a James Hetfield signature guitar, I would have expected to hear mainly metal riffs from some of his songs and get a better idea of what this guitar can accomplish in terms of "Hetfield sound". But nope: bluesy stuff. Useless.
