A friend of mine during mandartory military training years ago was asked by the sergeant where he parked his truck. He replied he could not find it because of the camo. He had to spend an extra week in detention .
Demitri Martin summed camo up nicely for me: “One of my favorite clothing patterns is camouflage. Because when you're in the woods it makes you blend in. But when you're not it does just the opposite. It's like, 'Hey, there's an asshole.' But when you're in the woods you're like, 'Is there an asshole out here?' They look like trees.”
I’m 6’1 and all of my guitars look tiny on me. I have one explorer and it’s slightly smaller than this one. I really want a full sized MX250 or snakebyte so it won’t look like I’m swallowing a guitar.
Plays a James Hetfield guitar, wears a pantera shirt. Only thing missing was some megadeth riffs. And you're right sitting down to play an explorer shape guitar is a task.
I have an LTD Snakebyte in gloss black (discontinued I think). Definitely one of the best metal guitars I've ever owned. At first, I wasn't a big fan of the wavy shape, but then I realized James designed it that way to make it more comfortable while sitting down in classical position.
I haven't gotten to try a Snakebyte myself but I played an Iron Cross on the day my wife decided she was going to marry me someday. Also, a dynamic active microphone likely means it requires phantom power for a gain boost or something.
Yeah, ESP had some serious issues with production/delivery of new models. There are people out there, who ordered new 2022 LTD Deluxe models and still haven't gotten them.
So Ola takes an off-the-shelf Snakebyte guitar with a Mark amp and Recto cab, and just throws a new mic in front of it... and already gets a better tone than Metallica's latest album. For christ's sake would somebody throw out the garbage sounds guys working with that band and get people who actually know what good guitar sounds like PLEASE.
Got mine in September here in Mexico too. It’s one of the best guitars i own. Hope to get Solar here too. Best of success Ola. Big fan!!!! Abrazo Mexicano!! 🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻🇲🇽🤘🏻
As the owner of a Kelly... while I dig its looks overall, one of my gripes is the leg contour - it's too far up the body, even compared to a typical Strat style guitar. In the regular position, the picking arm is too far out. In the classical position... well I might be doing something wrong here, but it just doesn't want to stay put, unless I use a foot stool.
I have the Black one and it's a beast of a guitar! It's not heavy like you would think at all. If you're a MetallicA fan it's a must have it has that weapon type sound that James uses.
The high-end LTD sigs are great guitars. I own both a Custom Shop KH-2 and the KH-602 and while the KH-2 is superior as far as build quality, playability and tone, I would’ve been perfectly happy with the 602 had it been available when I bought my KH-2 in the late 90s.
Ciao Ola i would like to know the difference with the Esp non LTD ..with the same Guitar ABOUT THE SOUND... Will be Amazing make a comparison ...ciaoooo.... 🖤
The question is that is the ESP MIJ Camo Snakebyte really x3.5 better than the LTD Camo? ESP is over 7000€ and it has Sperzel locking tuners and ESP MIJ is 305mm radius and that LTD has 350mm. That's... about it. The differences I mean.
Hetfield needs no 22nd fret. But yes, I had the same experience: Played it in store sitting down and it just doesn't feel right that way. Iron Cross feels much better if that's how you play (like me).
Mesa 4x12 Oversized doesn't fit at all for the metallica sound / it's just too scooped / double scoop if you will (IIC+ Graphic EQ + Cabinet EQ Curve) The Mesa 4x12 Traditional would rather sound much better with this setup
Another aspect to most any Explorer-inspired shape guitar, there's a really significant change in position of the bridge to a symmetric guitar and I noticed you're playing it with the waist of the guitar on your left leg. Switch that over to your right leg and the plank will be out of your way, although the bridge might shift too far to the right for you then. I play Explorers almost exclusively as the shape puts the bridge in a place that works for me when I'm palm muting.
The real ESP custom shop Snakeskin wrapped Snakebyte should have been released before the camo, but I guess after they released a snakeskin version nobody would buy the camo. Shame
These dudes smoking crack if they think anyone paying $7100 for a Hetfield guitar... you could get ANY sig guitar in 1997 for $1700... make it make sense.
I've played a couple of these, and agree with Ola they are really well built. I don't mind the shape sitting, but man the price is tough to swallow on them. I think the camo goes for $1800 USD.
watched this like 5 times. ps- playing the first power chords wrong, it's a spider chord on E5-A77-A78. Watched live to be sure but I like your way better I'm going to try that!
If this thing was in a 25.5" scale and had anything other than a TOM (Hipshot? Please?) I would have already bought one. Cool shape and pickups but just... not quite.
I've got a 2020 left-handed Snakebyte and not only is it a great guitar the ESP fitted case is as good as the case for my Gibson Explorer. I do prefer the Explorer over the Snakebyte but they are both great guitars.
Ola I have Snakebyte and I struggle playing it sitting down. Its definitely easier to play stand up. I am curious how your Solar Type X guitar plays? PS don’t buy White guitars, it’s already turning off white and have only had it for 5 years😢
You should have a solar x guitar in a camo colour like this but a little different so it doesn’t piss off any copyright laws , if it would even matter . I have no idea but I do know I would buy a solar camo X in an heart beat with a standard bridge, not a Floyd or evertune though.
I love the way this guitar sounds but, I really do not like the way it looks. I’m a bit of a purist so I much prefer the look of an Explorer aesthetically speaking. I hate Gibson for what they’ve done to the legacy of the Explorer. They could have easily struck a licensing deal with ESP, Dean, and any other company selling Explorer shaped guitars rather than engaging in the utterly stupid cease and desist legal maneuvering they’ve been engaged in the last several years. I get why ESP altered the shape to get around that but, this is a total miss for me.
Makasar ebony fretboard.. meaning the guitar is a MII guitar right? Its good that it doesn't hve a tone knob.. otherwise, you'll hve to spend ur entire life to find Hetfield tone.. 😂😂😂
You are sitting as well. So arm will make it move. As you stated. Dig the guitar. Love it. I need one but I’m learning the guitar so wife states learn with what I have. First. I have a Kirk Hammett guitar and low level les Paul and Ibanez. So I have decent ones. But I like that sound mine sound nothing like that chug chug
This guy sells guitars. He test other manufacturers guitars and gear and rate it. If is good, bad or amazing he just say it. Ola you have my respect, over your guitar skills and amazing Solar guitars you are an honest man. That's the way to improve your guitars and production. I'm sure Solar will be one of the real big brands very soon
For a guitar that’s always sold out I don’t see many people playing them. I don’t think it’s sonically anything special. The shape is kinda cool because it’s a take on an Explorer.
5:38 Yep! I could never stand an Explorer shape because of that, it always felt like my right hand was pushed forward into an uncomfortable position. Not a fan at all!
Bend it like beck. Soon as you played cemetery gates and a few what I like to call upchugs. And also you have to stand up to feel comfortable or out it between your knees like dime
Awesome but my favorite shape of guitar is V from ... Solear, best looking guitar on market, plays also VERY VERY well ;D in begining of the year went to music shop 200 km away from my home village and tested esp ltd black metal arrow.... and meh... on fotos looks amazing... but Solar V is more comfortable while standing... ok enough of sugar, cant wait for next videos ;D
