The Lovyangfx has tearing and artifacting probably due to a number of possibilities. It could be due to the lack of a buffer or one that's too small, incorrect timing, or partial frame updating normally used for video.

I used the ESP32-DevkitC v4 not ESP32-S3 for this project.

I love the compare between parallel and SPI . pictures from SDCard needs only a few Milli seconds in parallel mode with resolution 480x320 in JPG 16bit colors. But touch functionality is better with SPI. TFT are a revolution for embedded systems. did you have experience with 7“-TFT or 10“-TFT models? Which are good for ESP32?

Hey Paul. It's difficult to find products larger than 7 inches with an SPI interface. I have reviewed a 7-inch display that works independently in the past(ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-NlHB3JYyOOs.html). The performance is really good, but the price is too high.

@@ThatProject , I prefere a cheaper solution with 3,5“ and 4.0“. But one day I take a display from an IPad in 10“ and connect it parallel. transferring 16 bit to the display controller is a problem of not enough lines. There are so much IPS-Displays in cheap tablets so I will find a Display with LVDS-connector.
