She is so uniquely gifted talented, she plays these jazz phrases on her bass that are not easy to play, at the same she sings the melody, including melody phrases she sings, she is like doing two different concepts at the same, i.e. Close your eyes & listening to her bass & singing at same time it sounds like two different people playing, because the bass phases are very difficult in timing & melodies she sings have their own timing
This young lady is the truth. She is a god saint for music ,she will change the game of jazz music so that the young players can katch up with the old player that knew good jazz .
un mostro veramente, ma soprattutto una grandissima jazzista al pari di un jazzista uomo, muicista però non esecutore...l'ho vista ieri in tv...Un talento incredibile
i'm so glad that i saw her at Prince concert..she is divine...so beautiful and no need of a ton of make up..this is music right here...we still do have good artist/singer if u are willing to look for them...
Most Bass players I heard or played with I've thought or said: Hurry and get that solo over with now! Mingus,& Pastorius & Stanley Clarke were the last past greats. Esperanza, never met her, but she's the best current bass player on the scene today. Stanley Clarke is my favorite Bassist of all time.
Charlie Mingus is either cheering her or rolling over in his grave, but I think Mingus would approve and love her as the musician she truly is! WHAT A STAR-TRIPPN' GENIUS SOLO SHE DOES ON THIS CUT. +, what a voice she has! I only regret that I hadn't heard of her until a few months ago. Nothing sexier than a beautiful woman that can REALLY play an instriment, plus sing in a sensual & talented voice that is eclipsed by very few in the history of music. Jazz is my ride & she's taken me miles.
@danman004 I just found out that this song is on Terri Lynn Carrington's new album called The Mosaic Project which was just released on July 19, 2011. You can also buy the song on Itunes because the whole album is on itunes.
I love her bass technique she plays it like she plays a violin which I believe she played this instrument first. Her dexterity on the bass, the way she plays the chords, gives her an advantage I think.
Quem sabe agora o excelente bom gosto musical volte ao Brasil através dessa inimitável swingueira e polivalente Esperanza e assim um final de tantas bobagens feitas em nome da Musica
