Wow I'm glad I found this now, I've been struggling with how to stop the twist from getting into the fibre I'm holding. New learner, not many people give this information.
I was always a bit scared of long draw until I was given some fibre with a very short staple and the only way was to spin long draw. It was such fun. I have just ordered a Nano 2 (I spin on my wheel mostly but wanted a way to spin when pain won't let me treadle and can't afford the 6) and can't wait to get my carders out and do some more long draw. Thanks for this video, it is interesting to see how the control is the same though one can't just stop treadling but have to switch off. I can forsee a lot of fun while I get used to spinning in exactly the same way but completely different !!
Thank you so much for demonstrating the long and short draw. Especially how to remove the sloub of fibre. Spinning several years. Was never shown how to do the long draw correctly and especially removing the slub.
Thank you so very much for this video. It's the best presentation of how to spin I've found - especially for long draw. It will help me spin on my new 6.0 and my treadle wheel.
Hi, I am having the worst time with getting the tension right on my e-spinner (6.0) I was doing really well (well, for a new spinner) but today, I just couldn't seem to get the tension right! The yarn kept bunching up, so I increased the tension, it still bunched up - worse, so I lowered the tension- I just cannot seem to figure out what I am doing wrong (again)!. Any help you can give will be appreciated- meanwhile, I will just continue trying to work it out.
