What a reach to even begin to say JJ is going top 3 let alone 2nd. Media is bored right now

If McCarthy goes 2nd overall, a lot of teams are going to be laughing at the stupidity of whoever took him that high and gifted Jayden Daniels away

Rich Nabers and Thomas Jr was there in 22 season too. Difference is JD gotten better and ELEVATED himself and them to first rounds picks. I dont think that anyone can deny that. Overlook maybe but certainly not deny.

I could see JJ being drafted at #2 by Washington. Adam Peters will try to look like the smartest guy in the room. JJ will get people fired.

The significantly smaller sample size of throws McCarthy had to make than the other QBs matters and should be considered. It’s far from “insane” to factor that in

As a Commies fan, I'm prepared to trust the new brain trust. For the first time since Charley Casserly was fired we have actual, real qualified professionals picking all of the players. With Gibbs 2 and Rivera, we had a coach making draft picks, not a GM. With the 20 seconds McCloughan was ostensibly in charge, we later learned he was never really in charge. Honestly, I would take Maye, but I won't be unhappy with any of the three because whomever they take is the guy THEY evaluated as the best for them. I feel like Maye has the highest ceiling, McCarthy the highest floor, and Daniels may be the closest to his ceiling. There's something to be said for and against each of them. But that's the order I would rank them - Maye then McCarthy then Daniels. But I'm just a dude on my couch. If Peters/Quinn/Kingsbury tell me I was wrong across the board and Spencer Rattler was the correct answer, I'll line up behind Spencer Rattler. Now...if they're wrong, I'll be less trusting NEXT time.

Wouldn’t they throw the ball more if they thought McCarthy was a great QB? Great coaches use their best players

I have to say this why is this a competition. Look at the top NFL Quarterbacks MaHolmes, Lamar, etc. These dudes put the whole team on their back. Jayden Daniels is the only Quarteback that does this at a higher level than McCarthy or Drake Maye. Neither Maye or MCCarthy will never beat Maholmes or Lamar but Jayden Daniels has a better chance.

The highest JJ will go is 4th by Minnesota trading up with Arizona. Even that is a reach.

If a QBs top traits are his intangibles and toughness and evaluators go a whole video without talking about their arm talent, that doesn’t sound like a #2 overall pick

I don't think I've seen this much buzz around Qb class ... ever. I still say whether they succeed or fail will depend on the system they land. Some teams are just crappy developers of talent.

I don't know why I keep clicking on these clips when I know it's going to just be 5-10 minutes of Rich glazing JJ. I love Rich but hes obviously got a bias here and this is getting played out

Question for all you analyst who think J.J. is a scrub. All of you are crazy! Do any of these other QB's have his intangibles? Here's the list: leader, winner, high football IQ, willpower, confidence, hard worker, playmaker, determined, unselfish, athletic, sleeps, eats, and breathes football, and tough as nails (J.J. played with an injured leg which made it painful to plant and throw from Penn State up to the Bama game). He refused to leave the Maryland game and get an MRI even though the pain was such that tears ran down his cheeks. Harbaugh kept the severity of the injury under wraps but anyone paying attention knew something was wrong. J.J. came to Michigan a dynamic QB who could make plays in big games as needed who was taught to be a game manager and to control games. The other QB's in this class will have to be coached up on game control and management like what Pat Mahomes has done. Perhaps these other QB's don't check most of the boxes described earlier and that's why his stock is rising.

So the knock on Jayden Daniels appears to be that he had a Good wide receiver so Drake is better because he had lesser WRs. And JJ some say he rode the defense but guess what? He had a pro day so now he's also the possible #2. Sorry Jayden, all those accomplishments and super human feats put you on a JJ level. Well at least Caleb is the first pick but his negatives are always pointed out and honestly. If Patrick mahomes didn't exist? Caleb wouldn't be the first pick. Hopefully Washington lands Daniels, can't wait to have an exciting offense once again

Yall do realize it's always the 3rd qb and on that does good.. So per the history of the draft more than likely Caleb, Drake will be a bust and I think it's a good chance they will be

I think it's a tossup between all 3. Maye and McCarthy have stronger arms than Daniels, after watching the film, IMO.

Maye is #2, he’s only 21 and will take a couple years, but has higher ceiling and can make all the throws.Daniels will be 24 this year.

Whether or not McCarthy was asked too little or not. He played behind one of if not the nest O line while in college and had the ability to run the ball 30+ times against a Penn St. that wasn’t a slouch on defense.

Looking back over the last five-year QB draft consensus shows us what is flawed thinking.
