I watched him in a 1981 high school football in Alabama when he played for McAdory HS in Bessemer. He wore number 40 if I remember. He returned 2 kicks for TDs, rushed for about 300 yards and 3 more TDs, and literally looked like a man among children. The stands were packed with coaches from all over the country. Ridiculous, once in a lifetime talent.
He actually had a really bad stutter when younger and that why he would beat up a lot of kids that made fun of him. I think his wife is a doctor or speech therapist and really helped him
Its like tha Modern Day Zion Williams. He's tha best baskeball player in college only playing Half tha games. Made NIKE lose a Billion Dollars. Blew thru a NIKE SHOE!!! =D Off of Sheer POWER!!!! =D
I tell my son all the time that Bo is the BEST I’ve ever seen or heard about. At the end of the interview when they shook hands you could see how bleeping huge Bo’s hands are compared to the interviewers.
THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME! What this man did in a 5 yr span..was SPECTACULAR! I believe he's a good soul too! He was born in 63' like me...thanks for the memories Vincent "Bo" Jackson.
Ladies and gentlemen.... this is the greatest athlete of all time. Skill wise... strength/speed/quickness.. No one will ever be as much of a genetic/hardworking freak like he is.
@@thomaspatt3048 I think if Bo had a full career this argument might have been put to bed, but I'll agree to disagree as both of them were amazing athletes.
@Clan leader Predator That is a pretty subjective argument. We will never get the for sure answer, and 4 years ago I had just watched the Bo Jackson documentary. It was a happier time, just let it be and we will agree to disagree.
GOAT athlete - period. And with a fantastic outlook, attitude and character as well. We might never see another athlete like him at least in our lifetimes.
It goes to show you that he was BORN a natural athlete when you hear that he didn't even lift weights. For a man to have those abilities (size, strength, speed and technique combined) is practically unheard of.
Maybe he didn't lift weights but I'm sure he did a lot of sit-ups and push-ups and similar exercises to stay toned. He just didn't want to bulk up from weights because it would slow him down.
@@Ascending11 Barry Sanders was a specialist. Sanders was a more skilled RB but, nowhere near the overall athlete that Bo Jackson was. It's not even close.
As a nativeof Cleveland I am biased towards Jim Brown but can't really argue with ESPN's choice of Bo-they are certainly the 2 best all around athletes of the 20th century, if not ever-like Bo, Brown was outstanding at everything-although he never played 2 sports professionally he was so unstoppable in lacrosse the rules were actually changed because of him-he was an excellent basketball player, track and field, tennis-probably would heve been great at putt putt and tiddly winks
jerry goldfarb cmon man I’m a Cleveland native myself but I will say Bo Jackson is the greatest Athlete of all time, Jim Brown was a absolutely god gifted athlete but Bo Jackson was the epitome of an athlete
sydboski instead of spamming every single comment on every Bo Jackson video why not post your own thread on Jim Thorpe at the top of your page and converse and argue if necessary with those who reply? Wait... I know the answer...because no one gives a fuck about Jim Thorpe and You're a fucking loser troll
And you are still trolling my comments. You obviously don't know the meaning of the word troll. Well here it is: make a deliberately offensive or provocative online post with the aim of upsetting someone or eliciting an angry response from them. I asked, What about Jim Thorpe? How was that offensive or provocative? Your comments, on the other hand, are trollish. But you are just getting madder and madder because I don't care about your comments. They don't bother me like the truth bothers you.
??? Your tripping... He was good at football and baseball, don’t start comparing him to one of the greatest basketball players to ever live.. Now if your saying he was better than him at baseball then yea that’s true
My whole life was modeled after this man. From his number, to his multi-sport ability, to his ironic and sudden retirement. In which we BOTH got sidelined with the EXACT same injury, the same wacky way.
For those who argue this man is not the most talented athlete ever......listen to the best athletes in the world as they comment on his skills. Enough said. When Deon Sanders, Wayne Gretzky, Nolan Ryan and the list goes on and on.....say he was a freak of nature. Wow. End of discussion. I love his humility!
Parents said! Get up go outside eat breakfast dont come back in intel to take a bath and eat dinner and go to bed. Will thats how it was in those days thats how my parents were in those days. No vidoes games, cell phones, computers ect... Just play ball or keep away and make fun out of nothing into something. Much love Bo. Your right technology took over this generation. We both were born the same year 1963.
What’s sad is future generations will never see with their own eyes how special Bo Jackson really was ! God made Bo Jackson then said “this is the perfect athlete” then God broke the mold & said “never again”
What an athlete. There have always been supernatural athletes among our race. I always had killer speed. I loved to run. I remember word of my speed got so bad, teenagers use to come to my house just to race me. And I was only 7. They never won. So they used to trick me into giving them a head start. I went along with it cuz I thought it was just a game, like tag. We would either tie or I would win by a hair. Crazy thing is, my big brother was even faster than me. We used to race everyday. I never beat my brother in speed until I turned 14. We were crazy fast. Never knew much about football or other sports other than basketball. But if I had ever been tested as a kid in middle school, I am sure I’d have averaged a 4.8 - 4.4 in the 40. And that’s when I was a kid. I’m 27 now, still very fit and train every day. Haven’t ran in a few years cuz I’m a Trucker. Been thin my whole life, weighed 150 lbs since I was 16. Knew a couple of friends and relatives who were crazy strong. Smh. They could whoop me, but they couldn’t catch me, as a kid lol. I think our prowess comes from our genetics. Naturally gifted athletes, generational.
As a die hard Alabama fan I still hate that Alabama told Bo he wouldn’t start his freshman year because they had a good back. He wanted to go to Alabama. They told him he wouldn’t get a shot at starting his first year. Auburn said if you come here and earn it, you will start. The rest is history.
Mr. Thorpe was a great athlete, but Bo competed in a far more difficult era in terms of competition and advancements in sports and athletics in general. And specially in an era were steroids became prevalent, he was never accused or even suspected to use any performance enhancers.
That's exactly what happens when you're all fast twitch. Suck at anything that requires the least amount of areobic endurance but you're a God at anything anabolic. Combine that with a strong mindset, unbelievable coordination and great size and you get bo.
Veridicus Maximus because speed kills. Speed is everything. The faster you do something; juke, cut, spin, crossover, pass, kick, throw, ANYTHING, the better.
@@DaGr8Depression No, speed is not everything - jeez - wake up! And the 40 yard dash does not help you in most of what you just wrote. There are many ways in which one can do something fast and the 40 does not indicate that you will be able to translate 40 yard dash speed into speed elsewhere or speed that requires coordination, timing, arm speed, etc. Come on bro think a little and learn more. Stop with the fan-boy attitude!
There are plenty of ways to lift weights weights that will not make you "bulky," especially if you aren't eating surplus calories. If someone had taught him how to lift for athletics, it might have protected that hip.
Top of the list of the Fastest and strongest NFL players of his time....did anyone get around his stiff arm? Fastest and most powerful MLB player of his time... With a high powered rifle of an arm... Mvp in the pro bowl and Mvp in the MLB all star game in the same season Incredible sprinter considering his 6'3" 230lb frame... Easily dunks a basketball and climbed way up the backboard.....Amazing leaping ability... Besides top flight world class sprinting speed, great long jumper... Don't remember if he threw there hammer, discus or the shot.... Amazing athlete... Now he's an archer.... =)
He's not human. but only the creators of DBZ know who he really is... He's Bojack's son -- get it "BO-Jack's -- Son" I wonder if Gohan beat him, or if they called a truce?
The Bo Knows commercial was the best of all time. "Bo- You don't know Diddley". No athlete the past 30 years except Dieon has even come remotely close to Bo. And it's not even close.
