Here i am in 2024 coming back to watch this. This was the greatest sports montage ever. The end of 2009a decade of sports with Coldplay playing in the background RIP Kobe im glad i got to witness it all!!
baguil02 Is it a fluke that the Giant's defense help the most proficient offense in history to only 14 points? You can say luck for a couple of plays, but for a whole game? No, that is just denial.
i saw this live on espn the 1st time they played it and ive seen it probably 10 times since, still gives me the chills watching it. i remember most of this they did a real good job
The Ray Bourque part always gets me, as a hockey fan. And this vid just reinforces why I love sports too-the drama and passion behind it is beautiful to watch.
2008 was the best sports year of the decade for me. the giants won the superbowl and nadal won wimbledon. both in unbelievable and spectacular fashion, esp the superbowl. i've never seen anything like that catch in my life. glad that both moments were captured in this vid!
its 2013 , i remember watching this back in 2009 when it just came out ''live'' or whatever. idk how to explain it but it felt so heart warming and im not even a big sports fanatic in general , now the atmosphere of things feels differently far beyond again idk how to explain it but hopefully we can go back to the way things were before, the positive things. its gonna be 2014 soon. I think its about time we all really evolve for the better cause the video showed were capable of it.
As a pats fan, I've my share of good and bad from the 2000's. But no question in my mind this is the most memorable decade in sports history. Whether it's the greatest will vary obviously depending how old you are, but i dont think many can deny how memorable it was.
It's Rulon Gardner, a Greco-Roman wrestler representing the United States who upset Russia's Alexander Karelin in the 2000 Olympics. It snapped a 13-year undefeated streak for Karelin and is considered one of the greatest upsets in Olympic history.
"Be tolerant of those who describe a sporting moment as their best ever. We do not lack imagination, nor have we had sad and barren lives; it is just that real life is paler, duller, and contains less potential for unexpected delirium." -Nick Hornby from his book "Fever Pitch"
what else could u say it was great decade they miss a few stuff but we all know what happen this decade and we wont forget nothing hppy new year yal god bless....... what a great song thats my song of the decade
from 1:57 - 2:02 , the lyrics are "confusion never stops, closing walls and ticking tocks" at confusion never stops they show boise states trick plays at closing walls they show that crazy ass nascar accident and at ticking clocks they show lebrons insane buzzer beater against the magic last season sickkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
@phillyeaglesphan Ahhh.. now I see. Totally agree with you. Do you remember how long it felt to WAIT for the final 3 innings to be played? Such strange circumstances to decide a World Series championship. This and when the 2010 Flyers had their playoff run starting with the shootout against NYR are the freshest of the great moments..
should have shown wade with the finals mvp holding arms with shaq while riles stand inbetween and shaq and iverson man people forget how good they were
They could have put at least one lacrosse highlight in there. Like Kenny Nims diving goal with 3 seconds to go to overtime for Syracuse to win the national championship.
yea it was a pretty good mix of highlights..but i think they coulda also included the one where a womens softball player, hit that game winning homerun..she tore her ACL and the other team actually helped carry her around the bases..
@crunchnut21 RIP Pat Tillman... I love this video, but I was a little sad to not see him mentioned. Just because the wars overseas have impacted so many people this past decade, even our sports heroes.
At the end of the day thats all it is. Just liKe anythinG. To them it's much more. It's a job they do Fans Go overboard with it and I love sports but It's not Gonna Kill me if me or ruin my day if my team loses.
+AfroKenny I understand what you're saying, but what about the Saints return to the Superdome, or Bush throwing a perfect opening pitch in the first Yankee's game after 9/11. I think it can elevate to something beyond just being a game
AfroKenny it's "just a game" to you because you clearly aren't passionate about it. For those of us that are innately passionate about sports, it's far more than "just a game". And for the athletes that pour a lifetime of extremely hard physical effort and work into honing their skills to a professional level...it's far more than "just a game". What sports means to you "at the end of the day" is just that..what it means TO YOU
Tamerlane you have a playlist of videos showing the mutilation and dismemberment of animals. I would definitely prefer sports over that, because I think you got some issues if that’s what you watch
I always watch this from time to time. What an incredible decade for sports. This video was put together beautifully and it always makes me well up. Hopefully the world will be back to normal soon so we can continue to create iconic moments like these
Every triumph, scandal, every bit of adversity, perseverance, heartbreak, love, joy, misery, tear, laugh, every head bowed and fist raised. I think this video flawlessly demonstrates how sports are the perfect allegory to the human experience. This video is incredible.
2010s one had so much potential but came up short. The 2000s and the 20th century montages were some of the greatest in history and ESPN's finest. Still get chills watching this and the 20th century one. 😢 Edit: Clocks couldn't have been a more perfect song for this montage.
If you listen to the words of the song, all of the clips are paired perfectly with them it truly was and still is one of the best sports Rhetoric videos we will Probably ever see
