Let me know what you think works or doesn't work in our modern eSports arenas or play spaces. This is truly and interesting yet-to-be-defined building type and every ounce of insight is extremely valuable. Remember to subscribe to the channel to not miss the upcoming videos on this series. :)
This has got to be the most comprehensive explanation of eSports I have ever seen. Well, done Simon. This is a tool I can use in business and also social service. Kudos!
@reanna-jy2bz Thanks! I appreciate the comment and you taking the time to watch the video. Please feel free to use this video as needed and let me know if you want me to discuss something in particular in my next videos.
Yes, very exciting all the potential designs for this area. Can I ask which one looks the most interesting to you and why? Always looking for more perspectives on the subject.
This is really interesting to me as someone who looks at esports both as a fan and from a lighting design, motion graphics and broadcast perspective. Excited to see your ideas about arena design!
Thanks for watching the video. Let me know of any suggestions for future videos or topics to include in a video relating to any aspect of the esports arena design - especially since you are looking at it from a broadcasting and lighting design perspective.
I would note that consoles are played in esports, but most heavily in fighter type games like Street Fighter, Super Smash Bros, etc. Games that perform best when both players are playing on the same equipment to decrease the possibility of any input lag. But overall, yes, PC's dominate most esports. Looking forward to this as a previous event planner, commentator, and broadcaster for League, Rocket League, Valorant, TFT, Heatthstone, etc. Great exploritory first video!
Thanks for watching the video and for the note! I am trying to avoid going too much into the details and discuss generalities to make it more understandable to those that are not part of the scene. But maybe I should have hashed out this point a bit more in the video. I hope I can keep getting your feedback and insight on this series. You have a very valuable background for this conversation. Next video I am working on and planning for next week is all about the different types of eSports spaces and how to relate them to each other and their characteristics.
Fascinating. I'd never considered this aspect of esports and look forward to hearing more. Just for fun, I'm curious what you think of the fictional esports arenas in THE FINALS. Makes me wonder what these kinds of spaces would look like as VR venues, unbound by physical constraints.
Thanks for watching the video and I am glad you liked it. I think you bring a very interesting points related to the virtual arenas and its something I hadn't consider until now. I think this point is interesting enough that I will make it part of the series. Thanks for the suggestion. :) As far as initial thoughts, I think they will not be able to replace the physical experience but I do think they might still have their place in the spectrum of spectating. Maybe they are the new way to watch games online - instead of your TV or other screens.
